I recall my mother serving up fish fingers, home cooked chips and garden peas. Yes - I do it now for my little one. She also made rock buns but those I never make!!

My mom would do us

Grilled bacon, broad beans (with a little bicarb to soften) and potatoes.

The bacon fat would then go over the meal. yummy,. with a little brown sauce.

I dont have it now but im tempted on occassions

Oh and her roast dinners with proper gravy...not granules,.

Where I come from lobbie is like a stew, where everything that is 'left over' is lobbed in.

"corn beef hash, haven't cooked it for ages though."

I still make it. Bung all sorts of veg in it, and it still means only washing up one saucepan. My grandad and dad always called it spladderash, but that was onomatopoeic as they always made it too thin. It's like curry as well, it tastes better the next day when reheated.
