My mom would do us
Grilled bacon, broad beans (with a little bicarb to soften) and potatoes.
The bacon fat would then go over the meal. yummy,. with a little brown sauce.
I dont have it now but im tempted on occassions
Oh and her roast dinners with proper gravy...not granules,. |

Mince and dumplings and also Tatty stew mmmm.
Whenever my daughters and their families visit or I go see them I always end up cooking either of those lol

Shepherds pie with beans and pickled onions, haven't had it in ages but i feel it coming on one of these nights. Yum yum, with hp sauce. I just drooled on my keyboard a little bit. |

I still make it. Bung all sorts of veg in it, and it still means only washing up one saucepan. My grandad and dad always called it spladderash, but that was onomatopoeic as they always made it too thin. It's like curry as well, it tastes better the next day when reheated. |
