Welcome to The Nocturnal at Misty Manor. My Manor House resplendent with gothic charm and housing various ghosts, ghouls and various beasties that go bump in the night. All are welcome here in my mildly perilous, safe space.
I’ll be hostess with the mostess armed with a cheeky smile, offering kisses and squishy hugs and dressed to impress in black lace & silk.
The fire is roaring. The ghosts are banished to the attic. The ghouls are serving mulled wine, hot chocolate and coffee.

The treacherously frozen Highlands (a long way from the M25) have melted into a paradise of blasting winds and chilled black nights; but thank heavens the sheets of black ice have melted. I am sitting here after a soul-inspiring feast of venison, raising my dram of whisky to my lips and toasting you all. Aye, my English soul is practically kilted & be-tartaned. |

Short days and long nights can be made cheerful by many things: in today's case, 25 year old whisky accompanying a chocolate and cherry souffle. Followed by the Thursday Night Nocturnal, obviously. |

Evening all. Had an absolute fuck up of a day. The hire car I picked up on Monday, because MY car broke down, itself broke down today. A '23 plate Golf. Spent upwards of 2.5hrs on the phone trying to sort it out, they refused to bring the replacement to me at work and instead insisted I go to the Airport to collect one. Cue insane wait for a wheelchair accessible taxi. Got piss wet through. All my belongings stuffed in bags and dumped at work reception. Travel plans absolutely screwed. We were both in super important work stuff today and so it just made the whole thing stressful and horrible and I hated everything about today.
At the Airport the dude brought the car near the entrance (after I begged), put me and my wheelchair in but walked away with the key (which I didn't realise) so I couldn't drive it away and eventually the alarm went off but I couldn't get out and go back inside because my wheelchair was in the boot and he'd parked it in a place where it was unsafe for me to get out alone. I had to shout at a passing tourist who didn't speak much English. That was the least stressful bit about today.
I didn't get home till nearly 21:00. I didn't get any food after breakfast and until 21:30. I only got to the toilet once all day, and only then because I asked a colleague to hold my phone (on hold with muzak) whilst I went inside.
And even having wrangled a bigger car, it still has to have the seats folded down in the back to fit my wheelchair in
