Bit underwhelmed by Postcode Lottery for £12.50 a month and having played for a good few months my only "prize" is £10.
i mean what even is the point of a prize that's less than the cost of play?!
The pychological trap is that you know if you stop playing and look out your window one day to see smug neighbours with a big cheque you'd never forgive yourself haha! Much the same reason I only ever do lucky dips on lotto.
How's everyone else feel about it and anyone have any recommendations of raffles\lotteries with decent odds and prizes in the thousands. |

I signed up a few months ago. I just got sent a £5 M and S voucher as a "thanks for playing"
Yay...
I will be cancelling it, soon (I planned to play for 1 year and assess any winnings) if my postcode is drawn the month after I leave, well Shit happens |

There are always winners but the odds are hugely stacked again the player. I play the national lottery too. I have won more than I did on the post code lottery but nowhere near my stake money.
I did win a plant in a raffle the other day  |

Wow, I thought it was £1. I’ve never done any kind of lottery or scratchcard. I don’t gamble as a habit but I have made infrequent large bets on x-factor , cricket and big brother and been very lucky. Although my biggest loss which still pains me, was putting a grand on Stacey Solomon, 7/2. She was clearly the best but already had a career sorted and they didn’t need her to win. |

, that's your summer sports sorted. My plant is a poinsettia, I feel sorry for it because I've never successfully kept one alive and it's beautiful |

Not something we have to worry about as the Postcode Lottery isn't available for NI.
Haven't done the lotto or lottery for years.
I used to pay into a work syndicate but the most I ever won was £50. |

I played it a few years ago and came to the conclusion that it is a high profile scam.
In my first couple of months, I won a couple of tenners. Then nothing.
And then, there were issues with the website preventing me from logging in to my account, so I couldn't 'unsubscribe'.
I then contacted them stating my wish to cancel after which, I miraculously won another tenner. |

The best part is the email the morning after telling you there is ‘news about your ticket’.
You start spending and allocating the millions, deciding which friends and family members you’ll help and who you’ll tell to fuck off. then come to the stark realisation that the ‘exciting’ £2.80 just about covers the cost of another ticket 
I play the lotto and to a few football accas. Lotto is like others said, I set some numbers years ago and I know as soon as I stop playing they’ll come up |

I really don’t get lottery’s at all the odds are so stacked
I mean you wouldn’t bet a football team at 1.8 million to one
You wouldn’t bet a horse or boxer mma fighter race car driver or anything at 1.8 million to one
So why bet the lottery at those odds |

I came out ahead in the Las Vegas casinos. I put a quarter in the first slot machine I came to, and a dollar dropped out of the bottom. I put the dollar in my pocket and walked away, that was me done with gambling in Vegas. |

Personally I've only really done the Lottery/Euromillions over the years.
Have won a few grand , but that was a while ago now.
My cousin won a good amount in a work syndicate though and managed to put a huge deposit down on a house so that was good. |

The old original lottery was mild entertainment and you would get an occasional fiver as encouragement then they added ten more numbers and doubled the price and now only give the occasional freebie, only buy a ticket when I am depressed now and neeed a win to make me feel better lol. |

Using our postcodes is a big lottery.. How many postcodes are there.
I used to win £10 occasionally.. That was what I paid a month. Stopped it.
