That annual obligatory Christmas poem 2023

I'll begin with the warmest seasons greetings
in this now traditional write
for years I have played with words and clichés
to paint a celebration of Christmas time
in order to bring a smile to the readers eye
wanting to carry a massage of hope
through the season into the new year
and so the poet draws out the pen
for the obligatory write this year
lets make this one celebration filled
with family, friends and music
let the laughter, photographs and memories
be lit by the brightest of lights
the echo of which breaks the silent night
with a love to all, and to all a love
a joyous Christmas and prospers new year
a toast to you all, cheers |
