"For people that like lifting, what's the most you have done on a deadlift?
Just done 171kg for 1 rep and currently feeling great"
I lift but I stopped deadlifts years ago my back doesn't seem to like me doing them, but 171kg is quite impressive!! |

Before I got injured I max’s at 183.5 on the straight bar, and 240 in the trap cage.
I’ve undone all my hard work with poor choices and a loss of mojo. So I’ll be starting almost from scratch. |

The first one is always the hardest but the numbers will fly up when you get back into it. |

No wraps, but I have weak hands from so many broken fingers doing martial Arts haha x"
I feel this one, my knuckles used to just hurt so much lifting for the same reason! |

I’ve gotta go cardio heavy first. I’m fat again and have high blood pressure. Gotta deal with that before I start lifting again. |

I feel you. I’ve put on about a stone and finally got back to the gym this week. I was expecting to hate it but I feel 100x better about myself getting it done. |

Never did 1 rep maxed
Best was 250kg conventional for 4
Nowadays I stick to RDLs / SLDLs for bodybuilding stuff. Mix up barbell, dumbell and also get great use from shrug machines as they can be excellent for DLing |

Regularly do 150+kg in my job. Shouldn't, I know, as I don't use a weight belt or strapping.
Whilst at college, I managed 182 kg for 5 reps, but that was a long, long time ago.
It's mainly technique. Good technique will get you another 20kg (or a sack of potatoes in old money).
Ps, I'm a 57 year old bloke. Come on you whippersnappers.

I picked up a cable drum with 180kg on its label once.
I think it was a dead lift as I was planning on taking it up some stairs but I couldn’t move and had to put it back down. I don’t see the label til I put it down. Drums that size are usually manageable.

I don’t do conventional deadlift currently and still rebuilding strength since my heart attack (taking longer than I anticipated haha) I using stiff leg deadlift currently last workout was 170kg x 8, last cycle of convention deadlift one rep max calculators put estimated max at 240kg but never actually tested it so take with pinch of salt |

Wife’s numbers where 155kg deadlift, 120kg squat and 75kg at 62kg body weight. She did compete at powerlifting but trains more like a bodybuilder now. |

I can tow 120kg by wheelchair, on a prowler. If I wasn't IN a wheelchair, I'd be deadlifting substantially more than 100kg! |

I was never one for 1 rep max...used to do sets of 8-10 at 130kg....so I guess my rep max wouldn't be a millions miles off 170 give or take |

Lots of women have huge amounts of muscle mass in the bum, thighs and calf’s , more than a lot of guys.
My youngest daughter is tiny, but so strong, when she was about 14, she could do deep squats while piggybacking me and I was 95K. Within a couple of weeks of training at 19, she could dead lift 140K |

If I was able to deadlift.....
The 1RM calcs say if I deadlifted 100kg, it's only "novice" level. An "elite" lift for my age and bodyweight would be 179kg apparently!
My 1RM for incline bench is 47kg which apparently puts me at "intermediate". I'll take it |

Im friends with this polish lad, that doesnt workout that did 220kg first time, biggest freak ive ever met in my life, he’s only 5ft8 weighs 75kg lean, naturally athletic but doesnt look like he lifts as such. Put up some strange feats of strength though, he did a chin up with 50kg attached first time ever trying a weighted chin up! 80kg standing overhead press 100kg bench and he repped 60kg on a barbell curl, perfect form yet his arm are like 14.5 inches max! Like it makes no sense, Btw the 220kg deadlift he wasnt at failure he just said thats enough, the whole gym stopped as they know he dont lift! Ive tried to get him to train properly but he says he doesnt wanna get big ??????? |

Not seen anything on here that's unbelievable so far. There are a few seriously impressive lifts (250kg+ is very strong even for an experienced lifter) but nothing that immediately makes me think 'No way'. |

Exactly... its all perspective I suppose. If you lift in a leisure centre or commercial gym it would be pretty rare, but in an Oly or powerlifting focused facility not so much |

As an Olympic lifter, I'm always interested in other peoples lifts.
Impressed at folks close to 200kg DL. What their messages are missing is their bodyweight so you can see what % over BW they're lifting.
Stay strong friends. |

At 108.8kg bodyweight in competition 302.5kg deadlift, 300kg squat, 197.5kg bench.
I've competed at a higher bodyweight and totalled less.
At 94.2kg I've competed in bench only competition and did 180kg.
Now broken and don't lift that heavy. |

Can't, because I can't squat or deadlift anymore. Only bench. Is there a revised version for disabled people?! |

285kg for 1, was chasing after 300kg but stopped strongman Febuary of this year and moved back to bodybuilding style of training so the reps are much more controlled with the weight much lower.
Mostly machine work now as I do 1 set to complete failure. |

How would that work in a wheelchair though? Or is there a machine you can sit in? My wheelchair has a maximum weight rate of 120kg, so any total weight I put through it (including me), I need to be careful because I don't want to break my suspension. |

This is us now. Mrs competed in a few CrossFit and powerlifting competitions, very proud moments for me to see her especially when she won but the wear and tear on the body and risk of injury not worth it for us now. Now we actually do a lot more isolation exercises rather than just concentrating on the big compound lifts. |

Yeah unless you're a powerlifter don't see the reason to constantly try and beat your one rep max. Regardless if its compound exercises or isolation the most important thing is strict form. Breaking form or doing cheat reps is a sure way to injury! But nothing builds muscle like the squat, bench and deadlift. I'm sure you've heard of the 20 rep squat workout? That combined with lots of calories puts on bulk quickly, only recommended for 6 weeks. Think I have only managed 4 before my body said no more! |

I'm much the same, my body is wrecked! Back surgery, neck surgery. Decided against knee surgery and just put up with the slight pain. Most of it was wrestling but having a body came with the job so it was under a lot of pressure |

The comps I’ve seen, you sit on a bench and the barbell is under you. I’m not sure if you’d be strapped down the the bench for support like the bench press though |

160kg was my max. I don't think I could go higher, I have metal plates in my arm from a severe fracture dislocation which don't allow it to straighten fully and 160 felt on the edge of something going wrong. Hurt for a week after. My goal was always 180 but oh well. |
