I have to have low level white noise or nature sounds playing to help me go to sleep

Wish my brain could stop waking up at 4 AM though with stupid questions such as "who was bored enough to discover the fibonacci sequence in nature?"

"What the fuck does a turkey have to do with Christmas?"

Then I get anxious about stuff I really don't need to get anxious about....."What would I do right now if time travel was a thing??? Where would I go? What if I got stuck??

Apparently I can sleep on a rope. TV programmes requiring little mental effort send me off though.

Paper Town Central, Essex.

I always read a chapter or two before bed, but that's just because I'm a prolific bibliophile...

I always read before turning off the light at night. It’s my little buffer that helps me slip into sleep mode (what I’d give to actually sleep through the night though)

We both always read in bed but not to help us sleep. Just while we're drinking our late night beverage

I don't HAVE to read to get to sleep, but it helps. Currently having really bad pain in my bad leg so I'll read until I can't keep my eyes open and then hopefully be too exhausted for the pain to win. It's the muscle spasms that are hardest to ignore

Yes! I totally get lost down the rabbit hole sometimes. Wikipedia is a tap if you hyperfocus.

I'm reading three books at the moment can't stay on one at a time

I read to fall asleep, I can tell the difference on nights I do and don't read. For example, exhausted, can't focus to read, fall asleep quickly but wake lots during the night and never sleep past 330am

Read (even a couple of pages) before sleep and tend to sleep right through to 5 or 6am!

I've never read anything by him. Just had a look on Amazon. Looks like the critics reviews are excellent and the Amazon customer reviews good but not as keen

I can't read in bed because a good book will keep me up all night, as will the light to read it by. No screens and no books in bed for me.

I read when I'm on trains mostly, and now it's winter I'll be on the sofa with tea, books, blankets and the cat some evenings

Thank goodness it's not just me that struggles with crap like this every night. It's mentally exhausting.

.

But to answer your question about time travel, please see my previous answer next year when I jumped forward to reply to you from the future.
