"Got a 10 year old Sandemans in the cupboard that I'm saving for Christmas. Got half a dozen truckles of cheese to go with it too.
Crackers to be purchased soon... "

That's ready for drinking and won't improve any further. |

"I went for a tour of the Sandemans warehouse when I was in Porto in August.
I don't remember much of the afternoon "
Aye.. It's a cracking place to visit. Mine was bottled whilst I was visiting too. It had already been maturing for 2 years in the cask.
As Nero says, it's done it's time and ready to be warmed.
I'm really looking forward to it.
For NYE I'm cracking open a bottle of 35 year old Glenmorangie... |

I know nothing about these things but a previous neighbour of ours brought a bottle of very expensive port up from his cellar one Christmas night (not as glamorous or posh as it sounds) and it was bloomin delicious!
.
.
.
We discovered much later that it was obtained by nefarious means which was probably why it tasted so good |

I have a Dow's 1977 Silver Jubilee vintage Port waiting to be opened. It's ok for another 5 to 10 years. |

I've no idea what this one was and we're unable to contact the gentleman to find out. |

If you write to the Governor at HMP Parkhurst then I'm sure he'll help you out. |

I spotted a bottle of Dow’s Quinta do Bomfin 2010 vintage port in Asda, an absolute steal at £22.
It will need decanting but that’s half the fun! I’m looking forward to sampling it over Christmas with cheeses and my home made Christmas cake. |

"Have a bottle of 1983 Skeffington port, wondering if it appreciates with time or should be consumed asap. "
•
What type is it exactly? LBV? A 'proper' Vintage? Single Quinta Vintage? Colheita? Ruby? Tawny?... |

I think the label just says name, year and vintage port.
I seem to remember the back label says it can be kept and to lie it on its side, label up and to decant it prior to drinking.
I’m not a port boffin, it’s usually cheap Taylor’s that gets opened and consumed |
