Been an avid iPhone user for a number of years but they’re becoming boring with nothing to be excited about re design and software upgrades so thinking of something different. The Google Pixel 8 Pro is one bit of kit and looks great but unsure how reliable it is or how the battery life is. Will also consider the 7 Pro version. To those who have one, what are the pros and cons?. |

I have pixel 7 pro. Nice OS, very performance, great camera and good specs. The only problem is that it seems to scratch easily. The fact that the phone surface is way too smooth doesn't help as it is very slippery. Also size-wise it's on the bigger side. Especially after using pixel 5 for a long time, this feels like a brick. I have also seen a reddit thread with users complaining about the phone getting scratched easily.
Overall, it you are ok with the size, you can get pixel 7 pro, but do get a phone cover to protect it from damage. If you can get pixel 8, go for that as I heard that the scratch problem isn't there. |

I've had google pixels since the pixel 2, now on a 7. Wouldn't buy anything else. Battery life is brilliant and battery saver mode is useful. Once got from Newcastle to Birmingham on 10% battery with BS on just kept it alive.
Helps when you're using Google services Gmail etc as all the logins and apps centre around this but not essential.
I had Samsung's for many years but they went downhill particularly battery life, edge was the last straw at one point brand new phone lasting less than three hours after full charge. I have a work iPhone and hate it, again battery life is terrible.

I've had a few and now they have their foldable I will probably switch back from Samsung. Brilliant phones, no bloatware, supported well with the new software and the camera blows everything out of the water, defo recommend. |

These sort of review type comments quite amuse me. Never a definitive answer just like when you type 'best something' in google and every link gives you a different answer. It always depends on what is important to you. People go mad about iphones, I can't stand them. I usually go with Samsung personally though the best phone I had in recent times for me was a huawei pro. Horses for courses |
