As for wines: try Riesling or Gewürztraminer. Whites from Germany can be really nice and different. Lots to discover.
Classification if wines is very different and confusing in Germany (and very "German" in a way).

Liebfrauenmilch is a very cheap wine... Can give a bad headache

My favourite German: Pumuckl.
Main character in a kid's series playing in Munich. 70s or 80s. Shows a lot about life in Bavaria back then.
Not sure if ever translated to English but it was shown in other European countries.

Cool. Had Nils Holgersson as well.
It's so easy to get nostalgic when just hearing the theme music from any of the old classics I still watch it sometimes |

I also loved Derick, if you remember that.
Had a cool theme song as well.
Scorpions and Avantasia/Edguy is the best you gave to the world ever.
I actually speak some German.
Russian or German was the choice given in the school,so obviously went with the German. I can read and write in German, but I can have only a basic conversation.
Never used it really.
My Great-Grandmother was German, but I look anything but German.

Someone from work bought us the most delicious German wine years ago, but can't remember what it was now!
All this talk auf Deutsch has reminded me of zwei, no DREI things!
1) Mützi
2) Diddlmaus - I gave birth to both my children in a scraggy old Diddl t-shirt I brought back from Hanover c.1998
3) A song we learned right from day 1 of learning German: "Hallo, wie heisst Du?" An absolute banger
Oh! And Spaghettieis. That's vier things actually! |
