"When I was little there used to be something on called the little match girl. It wasn't a film but lasted about 10minutes. They've not had it on for years now"

"The Nightmare Before Christmas is, of course, a Halloween movie.
Erm it's a multiseasonal film.
I choose Halloween. Other seasons are available. "
Ha! Halloween or Christmas is an excuse for me to watch it so I'm taking both. Greedily. |

It was made as a Halloween film, however the actual theme of the movie is more centered around the Christmas aspect of it than the Halloween aspects.
It's essentially monsters obsessing over Christmas (either loving it or hating it). Halloween itself takes a back seat overall with the one exception being the opening song is "This is Halloween" |

"Star wars Christmas special
It was actually a thanksgiving holiday special but didn't happen. Just an urban legend "
Originally but then GL made Life Day the "Christmas" equivalent of the galaxy. |

"Jack frost ...yes I cry every time I watch it even tho I've seen it a thousand times
Mrs P"
There's also a film called Jack Frost which is also an awful horror film involving a killer snowman. I often wonder how manh kids parents rented it by accident |

"Just me for The Hogfather then?? "
Noooo, my daughter and I rate that too.
In fact, our Christmas film canon is
Muppets Christmas Carol
A Christmas Horror (my wife loved it )
Hogfather
Plus we used to love all those old pantos they used to show on ITV - I haven't seen one in years though. |

A Christmas Horror Story, because I love anthology horror and it doesn't feel right to watch it any other time of the year!
For the warm fuzzies/nostalgia it would be any Pierce Brosnan 007 movie (always seemed to be one on over the Christmas/Boxing Day period when I was at the age Christmas was still exciting) or Home Alone. |

"The Wizard of Oz!! Was on every xmas as a child (a long time ago). Still love it." . Yeah I like The Wizard of Oz if it wasn’t on on Christmas Day then it was Boxing Day.I also like a Christmas Carol especially the one with Ross Kemp ( Grant Mitchell in Eastenders )

On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Yes, it's a Bond film set at Christmas!)
A Christmas Carol (1984 - an incredible cast, and it plays down the cartoonish aspects of Scrooge)
Gremlins (of course!)
Christmas Evil (A mentally-ill Santa fan wants to bring St Nick to the masses, with bloody results for those on the naughty list)
The Night-Train Murders (aka Late Night Trains - the European Christmas atmosphere is palpable, and nothing says festive like r***, perversion, murder and vengeance) |
