Not wanting to be recognised

Our profile name offers no connection to our real names or identities. We do include our real names when we send face pics.
Something happened this week that would make those who have a face pic say “that’s that guy/ woman off ……”
Have you done anything that people would recognise you from? |

The wife and I also keep a very private profile on here for a similar reason.
It did however mean last time I went to a club, I spent the whole night eyeing up a couple I thought I had been talking to online.. but then never started a conversation just incase it wasn't them |

If your gonna crop your head out of a photo for fabs, use a new photo, not an existing one
I matched with a forum user in feeld and was able to pin who it was based on the cropped photo being used
There’s too many people and resources online these days. If you want to stay private, fresh pics + crop |

"I've been recognised twice on fab because of my hair. Both people I've worked with.
How did you deal with it?"
One was a quite vulgar approach with unasked for photos by someone I used to manage in quite a large organisation. I just said she was mistaken and blocked her.
The other was a polite heads up from a woman I occasionally cross work related paths with and we had a laugh about it, agreed that neither of us play where we work and we get on just fine. |

If I accidentally leave my tattoo visible in a photo, I could be recognised quite easily.
I am usually quite careful though. I previously got recognised by a creepy couple on another site who demanded I meet them and who threatened to come into my workplace cafe to say hi.
I don't know where they knew me from, but from stuff they said I knew they did.I didn't recognise them though...
I am very careful now and don't have a public face pic anymore... |

Same here, people we work with but also friends who are on here too. How do we deal with it, well like anything in life we have common interests so speak to each other about it. Always good to let friends know who the fab crazies are. |

"Um, I too often get people messaging me about having seen me in public.
Luckily, most of the time, it wasn't actually me "
Same... Was that you in the pub/on the school run. The 2 least likely places you'll ever see me.

I get the impression there's another big blonde goth with an overly defined waist on the outskirts of my city. Its always the same area I'm asked if I was at.
Or maybe that's just where the streetwalkers work |

"Crime watch?
My location, age, the name I occasionally give out....all fake.
And no one would recognise me from my photos.
I think I'm safe. "
HEY! I KNOW YOU.. from the local shopping! |

I seem to get it the other way, in that people think they've seen me or worked with me & it's not been me.
A bloke thought I was a teacher he'd worked with (I'm not a teacher) then I had a man think I was called Jackie and worked in a local store & neither of those is true either. |

Well, it’s easy to recognise me from my profile.
But I don’t care. I even won’t be offended if anyone comes to me in public and says I saw you on fab. Could be a nice ice breaker to be honest. We are here all for the same reason. For LOVE in all shapes and form. |

I was recognised me at work the other day. The guy gave me all sorts of details on here after my shift… and then disappeared. Very weird. He didn’t say a word whilst I was at work, which was sensible.
I think most of the time they’re just excited… like celebrity spotting. |
