Peterborough

what do you use instead, in your area? Does it cover trains, trams and ferries as well. What are the areas covered?

Daily/weekly or monthly: what's the price like?

NB

(I've used the impressive Manchester Wayfarer which covers a huge radius beyond Greater Manchester: not cheap but well worth it.

In Peterborough we are stuck with Stagecoach/Day Riders or Mega Riders. Limited to Cambridge and Peterborough

I was brought up with Saveaways and monthly Zone Tickets in Merseyside, during the 80s. Used to be a scratch card, Newcastle had something similar.

Then Rover Tickets on the IOW in the 90s. Buy on bus, then use on train.

(Buy from driver or online: not from paypoints in shops)

Hampshire/Dorset

We use shells off the beach as currency here on the coast. Different shells have different values, but you can only use cockleshells for the bus.

Public transport is so shit around here, so its left leg forward, right leg forward, repeat many many times, ‘til I get to where I need to be.

I doubt it as London is more of a risk and twice as busy!

I'm in Dublin and we have leap cards. Basically a prepaid card that you can use around Dublin on the bus, train (short journeys) and tram. €2 a pop which adds up pretty quickly when you're using them daily.

Ahhhhh Clippercards! *NostalgiaFace*

Do we still have Wayfarers now with the Bee Network? The Bee Network is shit here, our infrequent buses have switched to "non existent" and we still don't have any trains! And yes, this is in GM!

Mr KC buys a Countycard......

Bramhall

Liverpool Saveaways, now there’s a blast from the past

Randomly, in Kuala Lumpur, you have to feed cash into machines that give you a fairground style plastic coin which is basically your ticket; it makes the system away from manned stations totally cashless.

Seems a pain in the arse until you realise the metro goes literally everywhere and its costs pennies; there’s nothing close to it from a UK perspective.

Dubai & Nottingham

I use a Gold nol card, I can scam it with my phone to check the balance & can use it on any metro, tram, bus, monorail and access to parks.
