7th Monthly Sti check reminder!

I’m a day late! Panic!
It’s the 7th monthly reminder!
As we’re in a group of people that had more sex than others with different partners, we should have regular tests, it’s very much part of the ethical bit of enm!
A quick google will bring you to your free service on the NHS. It’s free it’s easy, what’s not to love
Let’s be the change we wish to happen.
Post below when you’ve ordered!
Some areas are different but there will be some provision! I believe free testing is every three months! I’ve got a few months to wait till my next test! |

Thanks for the reminder!
Haveing had a condom mishap recently it was really reassuring that between us we could each confirm we had tested recently enough to not be overly concerned in that moment. But to also keep in contact over the following few weeks while we both tested (after the recommended 2weeks) keeping each other in the loop and looking after each other and our respective partners |

Eeek, scary stuff! But glad regular testing can mitigate the worry! |

In the Southwest we use SHiP. Simple online form, say your a swinger, package arrives. Blood, pee and swabs. Off it goes and text message to say your all clear. Really simple.
Hardest part is leaving it on the side and remembering to do it and take it straight to the postbox |

I'm booked in and organised for mine luckily.
It's just a shame some people dont care about the sexual health of themselves or the people they sleep with or have the ability to send results/or show when asked. People like that need slapping into next week. It's really shitty. |

"Not had one for years.( Always use protection). Do they still stick a swap up your cock? I can remember almost getting a hard on last time."
What protection do you use that means you're not at risk of STI's?
I use my face. |

Protection ie condoms are not 100% guaranteed. Look further up the chat for evidence. You’re definitely better off testing alongside using condoms! |

Really and honestly, it next to impossible to access free asymptomatic testing here. But I've already explained the issues on previous threads.
There's no free postal kits unless you're under 25 and the STI clinic appointments (and it IS appointment only) are available over the phone only and they hardly ever answer it! And then, if you are wanting asymptomatic testing, you are not offered an appointment. You have to buy a kit to do it at your own expense (which is fine for many people, but not all). |

Same in my area. I'll just wait till it drops off.
I won't be able to get an appointment for that either. |

I just checked and there are only appointments two days per week! Tuesdays 08:30-18:00 and Thursdays 08:30-15:00. That's it. |

Only Tuesdays, 10am to 5.30pm. Got to call them and request an appointment, not a walk in clinic. |

I wonder how many folk get tested. I do but sometimes I get a scare.
I used a postal test recently but couldn't get enough blood to fill the kit. Then it was impossible to get an appointment. My results were negative but they don't test for everything. I used to live in a town where it was so easy but now I'm moving around it's harder to maintain that regularity. The UK has been cutting sexual health services at a time when infection rates are really high.
I've since been to a party where everyone wore condoms but there are plenty of other chances for infection.
I'm really happy to see this conversation and anyone posting in here would go to the top of the queue.
I worry that folk don't care, especially if it is just a one off meet. I'm single and take my sexual health seriously, for myself and anyone I have interactions with.
Testing is sexy. Big kiss to OP for the conversation. |
