On the one hand, I would like to see a couple of City's league titles handed to Liverpool but on the other the whole game is so full of dirty money, I doubt anyone can really claim the moral high ground. |

From a business point of view Todd Boley has done nothing wrong if anything its a blue print for smaller clubs to invest in youth more
Its something I have modelled our youth development around as an investment project
Possibly it may have been aimed more to the Abromovich era of dubious values and sponsorship |

"Where are they going to get the £300 million they will have to pay Leeds, Leicester and Burnley for cheating their way to survival. " it wasn't cheating for survival, it was interest accumulation from the load for the new stadium build that pushed Everton over the limit!. Please get your facts right before you call them cheats!

As funny as it is being a Liveepool fan, they have been screwed. No possible return on Siggurdson cos he groomed kids, no return on the Turkish lad cos of COVID and an attempt elsewhere. Man city have done a thousand times worse |

The games now lost to the average working class fan. Exorbitant ticket prices, overpriced slop passed off as food and cheating, diving numptys on hundreds of thousands of pounds a WEEK. It's all about generating money. Financial Fair Play my arse. |

I have got my facts right. They twisted and then broke the rules and in doing so gained an unfair advantage over other teams who stayed within the rules. Interest accumulation was just the straw that broke the camels back. |

The way in which professional football is run is a dreadful mess. But points deductions impacts the fans who pay to watch their team.
When very ordinary players demand ridiculous salaries it’s resonates throughout the financial structure of what is a very suspect financial model to begin with. |

With Everton getting a 10 points deduction for breaking the rules I really find it hard to believe that some of the other 19 Premier League clubs haven’t broken the rules in the past and possibly still breaking them now.I read somewhere that Covid and the lockdown period where there was no football and then when there was there was no fans had a part to play.Perhaps they should have been given another year or two to get their finances straight. |

If City and Chelsea escape punishment (which should be greater) then it shows how corrupt the governance of the sport is. Everton would then have grounds to appeal.
But if City are punished, it opens up possible legal action from clubs who lost out on Champions League spots or winning the Prem. |

Yes and no… this is going to get nerdy.. bear with me.. I will try and keep it as simple as possible
Everton, Man City and Chelsea are 3 separate cases.. they are grouped together but really shouldn’t
Everton have fallen foul of the premier league’s “managing sustainability rules” (MSR) where clubs are only allowed to lose £105 million over a rolling 3 years period… Everton actually lost £300 million over the period but you get certain breaks/write offs… for example, the new stadium..COVID.. women’s teams and building new facilities ect ect ect….
After all this Everton were found to be £20 million over the cap… now Everton dispute the figures because they believe some things should be written off, but even after those Everton admit they still would have been about £10 million over
They believe the punishment is disproportionately severe
Chelsea’s issue is a different one! They have self reported to the premier league with regards to potential illegal payments made by the previous owners, it is so severe that when the club was forcibly sold some of that money has been held back from the old owners to potentially cover any fines or loss of potential earnings for the new owners (apparently somewhere in the 9 digit range… so you can have an educated guess)
And then we come to Man City…..
Basically their charges can be grouped together into 5 categories…
1) failure to provide accurate financial figures (basically fiddling the books)
2) illegal payments to former players and managers (pre pep!)
3) failure to comply with MSR
4) failure to comply with UEFA’s FFP rules
5) failure to cooperate with the investigations
Where the first 2 are football “illegal” the Man City case could be real world illegal!
Man City are basically stalling the process in every court available to them
Hopefully that gives people a better understanding…. |

If Everton would have had a decent board in place they wouldnt be in this mess. They have the new stadium costs lumped in with their running costs which has ruined them. A crafty board such as Chelsea's have would have set up a sister company for the stadium, or found some other way round this. With the Ukraine war meaning they lost their biggest backer - had a 200 mill sponsorship for the training ground lost as well as stadium naming rights
Everton have been hammered, it seems everyone thinks its too harsh. it will be interesting to see what happens moving forward. Im guessing it will get reduced to 6 or 3 points so the corrupt Premier League can go easier on City and Chelsea.
City must be really worried ! |

The costs surrounding the new stadium are actually exempt from the MSF cap… they were 20 million over what everyone else has submitted, and even if you take of the stuff they are disputing (for example the court costs and the suing of a certain player) Everton still admitted they would have been 10 million over, and also admitted they premier league have been warning them they would likely be over the cap for the last year if things did not change!
Do I think the penalty is harsh.. yes
Do I think it will deter others… yes
Do I think Chelsea and Man City should be hammered if found guilty in their cases.. absolutely! |

Over the top penalty in my opinion, if they don't reduce it they will have to through the book at any other club in the future, Give it a couple of years and Everton will be renting the new Stadium to balance the books. |

Completely different cases...it's such typical scouse victim mentality bemoaning the points deduction.
They literally admitted they had broken the rules and then complain about corruption. The city case is still on going and hey who knows what heir punishment will be...
For the record...I'm an Arsenal fan so I have zero bias towards City or Chelsea lol |

"I hope they do the same for city. But I know they won't because they are corrupt "
Where does this bs come from....why would the premier League protect City anymore than any other club? |

What's the "typical scouse victim mentality" ? standing up for what they think is a wrong doing ?
10-20 million over is peanuts in football, and it was over due to the new stadium build not for players/wages, -10 pts is huge! The other clubs mentioned are spread over years so if 10pts is the benchmark the other clubs don't stand a chance. |

I'm not sure what there is to moan about and we've got some very upset blue noses in the extended family, Everton put their hands up but that's not really a mitigation..
The same level of sanction has to be applied to other clubs who are found guilty regardless of how deep their pockets are and however long they drag it out..

First of all, it was more like they were a 100 million over the acceptable level of loss over a 3 year financial period (I hink I read you're allowed to lose about 90-95 million)
Everton's loses were closer to 190 but their compliance department made a load of bs to say how certain loses shouldn't be counted. They then admitted they had breached the rules.
The other cases are ongoing and may well way end in significant punishment. What are Everton fans moaning and what is the basis for this lazy "corrupt" allegation against the PL.

No they put their hands up after they had made their original FFP submission and they knew their bs excuses wouldn't fly they then admitted they had breached the rules |

I thought there was some interest payments on the new stadium that took them over the limit, but could be wrong |
