In car parks.
Why???
You know that there's a very high probability of pedestrians usually stepping out from behind a car or car's reversing/pulling out.
Are you so important and special that it's impossible to just drive slowly and safely?
Same applies to assholes who undertake and speed up on/approaching a roundabout.

Oh yeah and twats that jump red lights which is becoming something of a pandemic now. |

Technically if you are pulling out of a space then _you_ are the one who needs to be aware of what is coming along the “road”.
I would imagine the next comment will be about people who pull out of spaces without looking…. |

I dislike undertaking but if someone has space to undertake 8 times out of 10 your in the wrong lane, lane hoggers I dislike.
Also the people who drive 30 miles below the speed limit.
People that slam their breaks because there's a corner.
People who drive straight over the round about.
Tail gaiters now if there's 1 he's a prick if there's several then I'm/whoever is the prick holding them up.
Already mentioned but middle/third lane hoggers, it's always worse when the speed reduces it's like motorway rules stop.

What is slow?
Not fast.
But also 40 in a 60.
50 on a motorway.
"
Ah ..... okay.
They are not slow.
60 is the LIMIT. No one is required to go 60. There are vehicles that cannot do 60 and there are people transporting delicate loads or driving at a safe speed which is decided by them according to weather conditions etc.
No one has to do 60.
50 on a motorway is perfectly acceptable on the inside lane. 70 is the LIMIT above which you can't drive.
They are not slow. Just overtake. |

I am not sure 50 is acceptable on a motorway- it is borderline for me because it is hard to judge closing distances when there is a mismatch in speeds.

If we look at dangerous erratic driving in another way.
Let's imagine that the impatient driver who yells at everyone undertakes, cuts people up, and is generally a danger to all ,this seems to be acceptable.
Imagine this person is a pedestrian in a busy street running down the footpath jumping in front of people harassing them and shouting at everyone who gets in their way, we would consider them a total nutcase and probably report them for antisocial behaviour and yet why is this behaviour ok in a car? |

There is no low speed for the motorway BUT you would be stopped and/or fined for causing a problem for other traffic.
50 is acceptable. |

I've noticed this a few times... It really is an accident waiting to happen and shows that people dont know the Codes for driving.
I'm going down the road on the left.
Someone is coming toward me on the right and they want to park on the left.
They don't wait for me to pass!!!
They turn left and drive up the kerb and park.... e.g. they are coming toward me in the opposite direction for a split second |

Not many motorways you can get past 60 these days anyways.
Smart motorways are a fucking menace 4 lanes some idiot sitting in lane 3 doing 52
Then the nutacses undertake a row of cars doing about 90.
I drive a restricted vehicle and they are bloody dangerous particularly when you come up behind someone doing 60 on a duel carriageway you can only do 62 as you go to overtake they speed up very slightly preventing you from overtaking by this point you have people right up your arse, you then have to decide to tough it out and wait to get past or indicate and hope they move forward or back.
Then they get in front of you again and slow down ahhhhhh |

"P.S. Wellhung.
The fault lies with anyone having difficulty judging closing distances/speeds etc . It doesn't lie with the person doing 50 on the inside."
I take your point. The “fault” lies with the difference in speed perception - it is not unreasonable to assume everyone is doing a _reasonably_ high speed on a motorway (ie at or close to the limit) and anyone not doing that is the outlier.

But the speed limit is just that. Maximum speed. It's drivers responsibility to drive at a safe speed for the conditions not to drive at the maximum speed at all times. |

Because cars are a get of jail free card. Only go to look at the jail sentences for drivers who kill others in collisions. The guy who killed a pregnant woman and 2 kids left in a come who were broken down on the hard shoulder and he hit them at upwards of 80...only got 12 years.

Everytime I get in my car I set off in a calm positive mood.
However some twat usually by the end of my road has done something that irritates the fuck out of me. Then that’s it snowball effect and by the time I get to Tescos 3 miles away I’m boiling.
Then you have the twat in a big SUV taking a fucking age to park it as they have bought a fucking car they do not need to fit in with the rest of the herd.
Ford Kugas, pretend Range Rovers (the smaller ones), BMW X series, Audi Q’s and the Merc version etc.
They should be made to do a separate driving test before being out on the road.
This is after putting up with the cunts on the dual carriage way that think it’s ok to drive in the right lane matching the apexed of the car in the left. YOU MIGHT BE DOING THE SOEEX LIMIT BUT IF YOUR NOT OVERTAKING GET FUCKING RIGHT.
Now I am wound up before I’ve even set a foot out my front door lol. |

"Middle lane cunts on the motorway deserve shooting "
I went up the M1 from London a few weeks back where it's 4 lanes wide before Luton. Lanes 2, 3 and 4 absolutely rammed, lane 1, nothing, zero vehicles, fuck all ! What is the point in making a road with 4 lanes when 90% of the twats on the road don't understand the rule "keep left unless overtaking"? They are now even putting this message on the overhead gantries and still they sit in the wrong lanes causing congestion!!Wasn't a problem for me as I sat in lane 1 with my cruise control on set at 70mph and undertook around 2000 vehicles |

Hey if someone wants to risk a ticket for speeding then I let them pass.
However due to the way most cars are set up when the speedo says 70mph you’re in fact doing about 67mph. This is so manufacturers are not sued when you get a ticket. The same for speed cameras there is a degree of tolerance so it cannot be questioned. Therefore most 50mph roadworks you can go through at 55mph on your speedo and not get a ticket.
As for LGV’s they hate to slow down as due to the weight it takes time for them to get the speed back so they hate to slow down. A lot of the newer vehicles have adaptive cruise control so they set it and more or less let it drive itself all they do is steer.
They are also judged on there telematics the office get data showing how they drive, this will judge things like breaking and acceleration as this can save a haulage company millions. |

People doing 20mph in a 30 or people who do 30 on a single carriageway national speed limit road (60mph). It puts the vehicles behind them in a position where they need to overtake.
If they can't do the speed limit, pull over and let the vehicles behind pass. |

Because they are so big they should be further back, less stopping time etc
i know they take longer to reach a cruising speed / slow down and all that,
but these dickheads on the M6 cant get close enough |

I agree too many cunts sit in the overtaking lanes overtaking fuck all it’s like a disease.
If everyone followed the rules it’d be lanes 1 and 2 that were full therefore said nut case would be in lane 4.
Said nutcase has probably been sat behind a fuckwit for 20 miles sat level with the car on his left.
It’s simple if your not going passed the car get left and stay there.
They have spent millions and we’ve had to put up with years of chaos for them to widen an A road to 3 lanes near me. It hasn’t made a jot of difference as the tits now drive in lane 3 keeping up with traffic in lane 2, the driver in lane 2 is scared to overtake the LGV in lane 1. Then said LGV needs to overtake the car in lane 1 doing 45 mph so sticks his indicator on. As car in lane 2 is behind he pulls out at 57 MPH and car in lane 2 breaks as he needs a dessert to stop. Car in lane 3 break as he is now scarred of overtaking a big lorry and we’re all fucked. |

Sorry but no, it is illegal to drive on a motorway under 50mph it should be the same on an A road with more than one lane.
The other one is the morons who think the national speed limit is 60mph. Yes it’s 60 on a single lane road but 70mph on a dual carriageway way. This means the white circle with a black diagonal line. If the limit cabbages it will state this in a red circle stating the new speed limit.

It is not a fast lane or a slow lane they are overtaking lanes. Therefore if you are not overtaking another vehicle or about to overtake another vehicle keep left.
This fast lane slow lane bollox shows you didn’t pay attention while learning to drive! The only person I let use this term is my mum who thankfully has never driven a car in her 70 plus years Mind you to listen to her she’s a bloody expert at it. |

This fast lane slow lane bollox shows you didn’t pay attention while learning to drive! The only person I let use this term is my mum who thankfully has never driven a car in her 70 plus years Mind you to listen to her she’s a bloody expert at it. " Exactly |

The other one is the morons who think the national speed limit is 60mph. Yes it’s 60 on a single lane road but 70mph on a dual carriageway way. This means the white circle with a black diagonal line. If the limit cabbages it will state this in a red circle stating the new speed limit.
**wtf now we need to watch out for cabbages too **"
Yes most of them doing 50 in the outside lanes |

"P.S. Wellhung.
The fault lies with anyone having difficulty judging closing distances/speeds etc . It doesn't lie with the person doing 50 on the inside.
I take your point. The “fault” lies with the difference in speed perception - it is not unreasonable to assume everyone is doing a _reasonably_ high speed on a motorway (ie at or close to the limit) and anyone not doing that is the outlier.
"
It is unreasonable to assume - full stop.
Assumption is the mother of all cock ups.
There is no law prohibiting driving at 50 on a motorway. There is NO law saying you must drive at 70. There is a law saying you can't go over 70.
Anyone assuming and not being aware of potentials is going to cause an accident.
Good drivers respond to the conditions they find themselves in.
Bad drivers , lose it and think things like Why the fuck is he only doing 50? I nearly hit him and it's all his fault. |

"And slow drivers....
Anyone overtaken in a car by a HGV on a dual carriageway should get 3 points on their licence !!
They should be taken out of their car and strung up at the side of the road as a lesson to everyone else.
Probably a bit extreme ya reckon.
You have no idea why that person is driving at the speed they are.
I think everyone just needs a touch more patience and empathy in those situations. Perhaps you’d arrive at your destination a little less angry too.
Sorry but no, it is illegal to drive on a motorway under 50mph it should be the same on an A road with more than one lane.

It is NOT illegal. You can be stopped and fined for going very slow and causing a problem to other road users but it is NOT illegal to go at 50 or as you said under... just under. |

People who do not accelerate to match speed to the motorway down the slipway when joining traffic.
Some join at 30mph but it’s ok you’re behind them as a buffer.
Some join at MAXIMUM WARP and veer directly into lane 4.
They can all get in the sea. |

The problem you have as well is young people on these electric motorbikes that can get very fast.
The police can't deal with them and the riders do not obey any laws so if you are hit by one it's your insurance that will suffer.
The only answer is snipers on rooftops to take them out. |

"If we look at dangerous erratic driving in another way.
Because cars are a get of jail free card. Only go to look at the jail sentences for drivers who kill others in collisions. The guy who killed a pregnant woman and 2 kids left in a come who were broken down on the hard shoulder and he hit them at upwards of 80...only got 12 years.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-67099209
"
That says more about the judges and magistrates who hand out the sentences
Maybe the law sets a specific limit but if all crimes were judged on the consequence of the wrongdoers actions then magistrates should have the power to go hog wild on the bsstards and the weasly barristers trying to get them off |

What is slow?
Not fast.
But also 40 in a 60.
50 on a motorway.
Ah .....

"And slow drivers....
What slow as in driving at the speed limit or slow as in holding you up for a millisecond?
As in way below the speed limit!
Have a coffee.
It's a limit, not a target."
I had a driving instructor that encouraged me to get to my speed. Ie- 30 in a 30 zone etc, or you’ll hold traffic up and nobody likes that.
But that was back in the 90s. Things have changed and there’s a lot more cars around I know, but. If it’s 60, and you want to do 40. Move the fuck over and remember how you were taught to let people overtake when you learnt how to drive. |

I don’t think the majority of bright lights are actually on full beam - it is just that as more and more of the cars on the road are new then they are being fitted with those new LED lights that are super bright. Great for the driver in the car but awful for everyone else. |

About one in ten of drivers have no lights on at all after lighting up time and some for ages after that.
Also, although a lot of front lights come on automatically with the ignition, the same is noy always true of the rear lights and a number of drivers cant understand why I am flashing them from behind in pitch dark conditions.
The car designers might think they have thought of every gimmick but clearly they haven't.
There needs to be an agreed code for 'You haven't got your lights on, mate'. Perhaps four flashes in quick succession? Otherwise the pillocks just think you are impatiently trying to get past you and they then go into defensive obstruction mode.
I followed someone half way across south London the other night, trying to alert him to his unlit state, and it was only when someone coming towards him also sent him an Aldis lamp message that he realised that the only visible parts of his black car were the chrome bits. |

I am not sure 50 is acceptable on a motorway- it is borderline for me because it is hard to judge closing distances when there is a mismatch in speeds.
There is no low speed for the motorway BUT you would be stopped and/or fined for causing a problem for other traffic.
50 is acceptable. "
The minimum speed on a motorway used to be 10 mph. Has that changed? |

I must have missed the bit in the test about obligatory driving at the speed limit regardless of road conditions, visibility, road surface, signage, road markings, temperature, weather, lighting, familiarity with the road.
As someone above said.. Wouldn't it be great if airline pilots did the same when taxiing to take off or to stand.... "fuck this you slow cunt I'm getting past you"
My friends brother had two years in hospital and nearly lost his life while broken down in the inside lane and some fucker undertaking hit him. |

"All those moaning about being undertaken, move the F over!
Lane hogging then complain about being undertaken
Mrs "
It's way more than that, I've seen people on a busy motorway all three lanes busy swerve at speed from the outside lane dodge in-between vehicles all the way over to the hard shoulder drive up hard shoulder then swerve back through traffic to outside lane just to get two or three car's ahead.
We all get frustrated but sensible normal people just wait and be patient .
Yes people hog lanes but I will wait until safe to overtake them then move back into the appropriate lane once passed usually inside lane.
But it's more than motorway's people undertake on roundabouts and in situations where it's extremely dangerous.
The idiots who see a traffic queue and rather than wait overtake only to be met by oncoming traffic due to parked cars or an obstruction.
So it's way more than just moving over.
I could rant all day about motorway junctions approaching and passing, moving into the middle lane to allow vehicles to merge onto the motorway only for some prick to undertake you then have to dangerously pull in front of you due to a large lorry pulling out from slip road,or car's bunching up bumper to bumper pulling onto a motorway forcing those already on the motorway ( who actually have right of way btw) forcing them to break suddenly or swerve into the next lane into faster moving traffic, because the idiots pulling on don't understand the protocol and rights of way.
But I won't coz it's my birthday weekend and am trying to chill oot. |

Driving to work on the motorway this morning at the appropriate speed and lane, torrential rain visibility very poor.
Nutacses in fast lane doing about 80 tailgating each other, even at 50mph you'd struggle to see and definitely not stop at the distance between the vehicles.
And hey presto a mile later van on its roof ! |

Great weekend for this cars with no lights, in the spray, same colour as the sky.
Nutters doing a ton+ past the SLOW DOWN signs.
Shocking lane discipline, weaving, can’t maintain a constant speed etc etc.
I just set the cruise, had a little nod, and let them get in with it.
Driving standards noticeably go to shit once you get down to Nottingham. |

"In car parks.
Why???
You know that there's a very high probability of pedestrians usually stepping out from behind a car or car's reversing/pulling out.
Are you so important and special that it's impossible to just drive slowly and safely?
Same applies to assholes who undertake and speed up on/approaching a roundabout.
Dicks
Oh yeah and twats that jump red lights which is becoming something of a pandemic now."

Counterintuitively, in _really_ torrential rain I think the best place to be is almost always the outside lane - the reason is that everyone piles into the inside lanes and as a result the spray is horrendous and the visibility is effectively zero. No one is in the outside lane and as a result the viability is far superior.
In bad weather I will always try to be in the lane with least traffic and that is invariably the outside one. I won’t drive fast but I am able to keep up with anyone inside me and if an idiot comes through at speed then I just pull over to let them through and then get back upto speed again. |

And the madness continues.
Pulled up to a box junction with traffic lights yellow Chevron's as a busy junction my light was green but I couldn't go as traffic the other side wasn't moving plus the car in front had already jumped blocking the junction, sat waiting for traffic to move van two behind me starts tooting and flashing pulls out overtakes on the other side of the road drive's around the island and proceeds to pull up behind the car already blocking the junction.
Light's change and non of the traffic coming from the other directions could cross due to fuckwad blocking the whole junction, people toot him he gets out start's shouting and abusing everyone, meanwhile the traffic in front of him has moved and he is blocking the junction still,he decides to sit and wait for the lights to go from green to red before pulling away.
This stops myself and allllll the traffic behind me being able to move.
All because he is an impatient asshole. |
