Thursday Night Nocturnal- Misty Manor
Jump to: Newest in thread
Ladies & Gentlemen, Guys & Ghouls, Spirits & Salacious Sirens…
Welcome to The Nocturnal at Misty Manor. My Manor House resplendent with gothic charm and housing various ghosts, ghouls and various beasties that go bump in the night. All are welcome here in my mildly perilous, safe space.
I’ll be hostess with the mostess armed with a cheeky smile, offering kisses and squishy hugs and dressed to impress in black lace & silk.
The fire is roaring. The ghosts are banished to the attic. The ghouls are serving mulled wine, hot chocolate and coffee.
Come on in, take a seat and tell me about your day
Misty x

I’m not sure I can handle a nocturnal at The Manor tonight. I have many things on my mind, and the spectres of nocturnal past and future may be too much for my fragile brain.
(Nothing to do with the number of excellent cocktails I’ve imbibed this evening. No sir. Not at all.) |

"Sends a ghoul with hugs for Misty as bury myself out of the way in the darkness of the crypt
There’s a tray prepared - a pot of tea and some carrot cake this evening.
Hugs xx"
Thank you hostess |

Rosie, my darling. Get yourself off to bed. I don’t think you can handle double Misty.
I have prepared you a guest room.

I've not popped into the manor for a little too long now.
I've been a bit cold today, sat by a door which wouldn't close properly, so the mulled wine and a roaring fire is calling to me! |

Good evening Misty. It's been a rubbish day and decisions still need to be made which my brain is too frazzled to cope with. I'm just going to sit by the fire if that's alright and stare deep into the flames. |

Good evening
Come and sit by the fire, I’ll get you a hot chocolate (with baileys if you like). We will have you relaxed in no time |

I trust my lady had a splendid day.
I've taken the liberty of bringing a selection of craft gins from the celler with a veritable plethora of fever tree mixers.
If I may request our guests refrain from taking Ferrero Rochas from the bottom of the pile this evening. |

That hostess hug sounds like an excellent excuse to drop by, as if I actually needed an excuse.
Would you mind sitting on my lap? Purely in the interest of warming up... |

The week has pretty much been a complete shit show for me culminating nicely with a rather extortionate invoice received this afternoon, so I think I may need a brandy (I don’t even drink brandy ).

I’ll pop a brandy in a hot chocolate - makes it far more palatable but has the same effect.
I’m sorry your week has been so shitty.
Mine has been rather marvellous I’m afraid. I started my dream job (other than Manor Hostess) on Monday - and it’s even better than expected. I am knackered though & have a presentation tomorrow |

Good evening, Misty and nocturnal sorts. Today has been a WFH day, but only after a lovely little thing at our daughter's school. I've had meetings in India and all over the place today. And then later on, I sat and froze my knackers off, waiting in the car while Mr KC took our daughter to her after school thingy.
I'm watching a TV programme about the role of women across the history of civilisations. Very interesting (but also aggravating!) |

Evening all. Hope the new job is suitably dreamy, Misty, and leaves you revitalised & recharged and hungry for these evening antics.
I'll spurn the cocktail cabinet this evening, & won't even dream of sending the butler to the cellar (wonderful wines, but oh! the guests do love to play in the shadows). A cup of chicken soup, please, and it would be appreciated if you could send just two or three chosen assistants to my room to rub my back as I fall asleep. The week is proving tiring; tomorrow's Friday evening in Glasgow cannot come soon enough. |

Thank you. Hmmm. I’m certainly rejuvenated in spirit, if not body at the moment
Your room (& assistants) are ready for you. I don’t have cups of soup I’m afraid, but I’ve left a warming bowl of chicken bone broth for you. That will heal all of your ills and send you in fine fettle to Glasgow xx |

Why is the programme aggravating for you KC?"
Having heard about the air quality in Delhi at the moment, I'll be honest, it was probably best to have met online rather than at their office!
It's aggravating because it tells us that in the earliest civilisations, the evidence is of an egalitarian culture where things were not divided on gender lines. Later civilisations started to make rules about how women could or could not behave and mandated things like veiling (this is WAY before Islam or Christianity) etc. It's just the fact that so many things that still negatively impact women across the world, are based in things written and decided some 7 or 8,000yrs ago, is just ridiculous. |

Hiking followed by a two day patisserie course sounds an extravagantly fine prospect. My creme patisserie is amateurish even before I attempt to introduce it into my choux pastry.
Sounds like you're thoroughly ready for the presentation, Misty. Always think the best ones are where preparation and winging it combine -- anything too much by rote loses a bit of liveliness.
Farewell Manorites; I am away to bed. May your nights be peaceful, restful, or thoroughly stimulating, in whatever mix you prefer.

"I’ll pop a brandy in a hot chocolate - makes it far more palatable but has the same effect.
I’m sorry your week has been so shitty.
Mine has been rather marvellous I’m afraid. I started my dream job (other than Manor Hostess) on Monday - and it’s even better than expected. I am knackered though & have a presentation tomorrow
I absolutely love that for you Misty!! I wouldn’t say I have my dream job, but I definitely love my job so it’s always great to hear news like this, congratulations! Are you ready for your presentation?
I think I’m ready. The other trainers will be acting as course delegates and I have to train them. I know my subject, and also know that at least one will “play” devil’s advocate so I’ve planned for surprises….
If not I’ll wing it
Brilliant! Look forward to reading how well it went tomorrow. x"
Thank you.
Better not let my faithful guests down x |

"Having a chuckle here. Someone has messaged, including words to the effect of [paraphrased] "I recognise you, do you get the train from XYZ"
Errrrrrr. You mean the place with steps and no lift? Yeah. Probably me. "
That even gave me a giggle.
Totally get why you’re frustrated by the programme now, sadly it is what it is and only we can effect the change for the next generation and beyond |

"Hiking followed by a two day patisserie course sounds an extravagantly fine prospect.
What a splendid chap.

Plus me."
I’ll have none of that. You are my glittering star, my purveyor of fine jokes & all round good egg xxx |

(Pats his thigh and motions to Misty to sit on his lap …. Misty notices the massive bulge in his trousers and her eyes flicker seductively … at that moment Todger pulls out his 12 inch… bacon and brie baguette… as the anticipation in Mistys eyes dulls and she heads back to the bar…) |
