You can't undermine what other people are feeling though.

I get where you're coming from, perspective and all. But people are allowed to have a bad day despite what anyone else may be going through.

By that logic, no one can ever have a bad day unless they live in a war torn country, under a repressive government etc. I’m all for perspective but that’s ludicrously unrealistic.

Agree with this comment. It's OK to acknowledge when your life is tough compared to what it's usually like or what you'd like it to be. It's not helpful to undermine how people are feeling.
