Any cover songs you prefer the cover version rather than the original one?

Just a few in my opinion better than the original:

Word Up - Devil's Train

Billie Jean - The Bates

Umbrella - Lillasyster

With a little help from... - Joe Cocker

La isla bonita - Twilight Guardians

Tainted love - Scorpions

Hello - Northern Kings

Stone cold crazy - Metallica

My sharona - Hammerfall

It's a sin - Gamma Ray

Mighty Quinn - Gotthard

Maniac - Firewind

Baby one more time - Heavy Metal Heroes

Deck the halls - Twisted Sister

Cum on feel the noise - Quiet Riot

Rasputin - Turisas

Mamma mia - Tommy Reinxeed

Friday on my mind - Gary Moore

Somebody put something in my drink -

Children of Bodom

I can't explain - Scorpions

You can pick one of the above, if you want.

Sound of silence - Disturbed

Also, can’t say I prefer it to the original but miley Cyrus did a cracking cover of Nothing Else Matters

Prefer Otis clay the only way is up although everyone thinks it’s a Yazz choon.

So technically hers is the cover which people don’t realise

I've yet to understand why this 'Disturbed' thing enjoys such massive popularity.

You won't get cover versions mentioned without it near the front.

All right, I suppose, If you like to hear a song growled rather than sung. Even Leonard Cchen couldn't have done a worse job.

Dreams by Wildcolour on Perfecto Records. Tin Tin Out Mix.

Obviously the Fleetwood Mac tune but this is a balls out, floor filling club thumper that tingles the spine!

Pet Shop Boys 'Always on my mind.'

It shouldn't work but it does.

Should be played at ear splitting volume, preferably in a residential area.

The Sisters of Mercy do a great version of Hot Chocolate's "Emma".

Also as mentioned above, Johnny Cash's version of Hurt.

But not that bloody awful clichéd version of The Sound of Silence by Disturbed - not a patch on the original.

As mentioned, Jimi's version of all along the watch tower is probably the biggest improvement of a song ever

Some excellent choices by people so far.
