its the person and attitude that makes the word derogatory. the word slut is simply someone who enjoys casual sex. so it depends how you use it and the tone and context of it being used. when my lady is getting fucked she likes being a good little slut, but from someone just to call her it out of the blue is out of order.

I'm somewhat torn I too hate the word when it's used disrespectfully.

Slut goes back centuries. Not sure why the meaning has changed because it was spelt slutte, and, meant a dirty, slovenly woman. The male version was sluttish, again to do with appearance. |

It’s a odd one for me
Ie I am allowed to call myself it anytime I like
During the moment the people I am with are allowed to call me it
But outside off that I don’t like it
Normally you see me referring to it as the “ 4 letter bad word”
Or “5 letter bad word” for whore
I tend to refer to them as that in a public space like the forums as I know some don’t like the term
