Let Him Have it..
This is a true story in 1950's England. Derek Bentley a 19 year but with the psychological age of 11 was hanged for the murder of a police man. Even though it was his friend Chris Graig who fired the gun. |

"The mist
I was actually very angry about the ending of this!
Sooo unnecessary"
Stephen King’s original story ended with them driving off into the mist. I could never decide if that was more bleak than the extra scene in the movie. The end of the characters, or the end of the world? |

"The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
After reading the book I said I’d never watch the film as it was too upsetting.
Film comes out and regretfully I decided to watch it, still messes me up. "
I watched that film at the cinema ffs, didn't know what it was about and didn't ask so watched it..... I felt sick when I realised what was happening..... I haven't nor would I ever watch that film again, it's too traumatic.... |

It's interesting that lots of primary schools read it with year 6. I mean they haven't got the emotional maturity really to appreciate it on that level but was a little surprised they decided to do this, yknow given all the books in the entire world they could read...

Alpha Dog - Based on a true story etc it's all bro bants but my god the ending haunts me.
I find a brilliant or poignant film is one I can only watch once.
Lots of great films in this list, particularly agree with Blackadder goes Forth!

Ok. I’m a sappy git.
I’ll cry at lots of things.
But,
Pay it forward is definitely one.
Meet Joe Black is sad but kind of heartwarming as well.
Green Mile is a once only film.
How about A.I. ? The ending is so sad.
And anyone who’s lost a dog ever can’t watch I Am Legend without a tear in their eye at ‘that’ scene.
