I love in a flat with wall mounted electric heaters which cost the earth to run. I also have a couple of oils filled radiators on castors which can be wheeled from room to room. Are they good value for money heating wise? |

My mother's boiler wasn't working last week and she had one upstairs and one downstairs and the heat they distributed was pretty good. Don't think she was too much cost wise in her electricity. |

I got one for topping up the temperature of one room without putting on the central heating.
I had a fan heater but it's a bit noisy. Turns out the electric oil radiator I got makes a cracking sound as it heats up or cools down. A bit disconcerting but I git used to it. 2kw.
According to the smart meter it costs 42p/hour to run. |

Oil filled are normally cheaper to run than an electric heater.They also don't cause dry air.
Oil filled radiate heat better and have the advantage they can be moved to where you need them providing you have a socket near.
With all portable electic heaters including oil filled never use an extention cable or multi socket adapter always plug them direct into the main wall socket. |

Oil filled will switch on and off at the desired temperature, they cost less per heat output than most fan heaters. It depends how you use them, you will need to turn them on low setting to see any saving though, as running a 2kw on full you will definitely notice on your smart meter. |
