Occasionally I will click through to a profile from the forum to read someone profile to see if a responce to their post is appropriate (alot of the time I don't though). Its always a bit of an ohhh moment though when I then find that I am blocked and makes me wonder if I have done or said something they have found offensive in the past or if it is that I sit in a demographic they have chosen to block on mass or if at some point they have looked at my profile and gone yuk.
I guess I don't need to know and in most cases never will but it does make me ponder. |

"I suspect it’s mostly blocking a category rather than an individual. "
Certainly since changing profile category that makes sense as I accept that TVs/TSs are a big no no to a lot of people. I hate to think what my ex wife thinks, I wasn't accepting or admiting to meself my gender issues whilst we were together but towards the end she was make very critical comments about trans people. |

No need to wonder why I think. People block for all sorts of reasons. I was blocked recently for fabbing a pic of a straight guy who was on the Thursday 'fab a guy' thread. Obviously had some insecurity or other issues but each to their own. Tbf I have blocked a few from either inappropriate messages or more often from their despicable attitude towards others in forums or for their extreme views or simply for too much arrogance displayed. It serves it's purpose. |

"Don’t over think it … if you’ve been blocked you simply aren’t compatible anyway so absolutely no need to engage in conversation. " Its not that you're not compatible because blocking on a whim of a comment made doesn't make you incompatible but you will never interact except in forums, compatibility is an in person thing and its a very narrow minded person that thinks otherwise |

Plenty have blocked me for reasons I don't know about.
Tbh, probably deserved. I can be a dick at times. Or make comments I think are funny, but aren't.
Tbh, I see it as useful. No point in going down dead ends. |

I would apologies to everyone I have offended over the years but I know there are a few that I have offended whilst locking horns over gender issues that I really can't bring myself to do so. So to everyone else sorry and to that group sorry that I don't automatically feel I can. |

Totally disagree … I can sometimes tell by a picture, a comment made or a profile if I feel like we’d be compatible I don’t need to meet them in person as I really would have no interest in doing so or wasting my time or theirs, I’m always respectful and never rude or offensive because that’s not in my nature, you might have a different opinion or approach and that’s fine. My narrow mindedness has provided me with some great friendships and connections so I’ll stick with who I’am as a person.

This happened recently. The person in question was a friend some years ago, and responsible for a very touching and poignant moment in my life that I will never forget (although, she probably doesn’t realise the significance of it). Years later, we interact here on the forum. I’ve gone to message but discovered we are blocked. It doesn’t change the respect or kindness I feel towards her. I just hope one day we’ll be able to say hello again. |

Sorry to hear that and hope you manage to reconnect with them at some point. |

I’m blocked by quite a few, the good news is that so far all the ones I’ve noticed have blocked me I have absolutely zero interest in anyway so there’s no hardship!
I just counterblock (I’m petty like that) and move on.
It’s not as though you can’t view them (if you were so inclined) by other means if you want to, so blocks are largely useless anyway! |

I think the only people I have ever blocked we a couple of members that kept messaging after being told several times I wasn't interested, a couple of people who arranged meets and then didn't turn up and one person who was getting really pretty nasty towards me in the forums |

I totally agree, you can get a good feel of who someone is, without meeting them, through profile txt, posts etc.
I've noticed I've been blocked a couple of times, that's fine, it just means I'm not for them or what they're after.
We can't be for every one op & I think some must block in groups ie tvs/single males if they have no interest in them.
I block couples as they're not who I'm looking to meet.
I've never seen you say anything that would have me reaching for the block button. |

There's only one person whom I found out had blocked me and I was somewhat surprised really as we got along ok on the forums. And then they unblocked me so I'm none the wiser! |

Narrow minded if we block because of what someone wrote isn't always a whim, if what I judge as a moral value and you are polar opposite then I'd block because I don't have time for those kind of people in real life and especially online. If that makes me narrow minded then so be it |

I've blocked alot of the people I see on either my feed or anywhere really. Its not out of hatred or anything, its just there because I'm not interested in them and don't want them to waste their time trying to message me. I use my block button mostly as a filter these days and its very rarely personal. |

I've been blocked by lots of people I've never spoken to or even engaged with in the forums so I don't lose any sleep over it.
I commented on a lighthearted thread once only to be attacked by 4 different women for some unknown reason. When I looked they all had me blocked and before that thread I had never heard of 3 of them.
The funniest though are the couples who have blocked me because before they coupled up some of those women used to contact me on a regular basis to say how they agreed with something I had said or to compliment me on a new pic etc. Those conversations were always polite and respectful on both sides so I can only assume I've been blocked by their new partners. |

Water off a ducks back to me.
When you've been on for a long while it's inevitable. Sometimes you know why, sometimes you don't.
I've made some awesome friends on here over the years and they're really the only people I'm ever worried about. |

Our blocked list is extremely small we have never had no issues with anyone so don’t feel the need to block .
We only use ours as a extra filter for people we have chatted to and for whatever reason we are not compatible. |

It's a site tool.. I use it for a multitude of reasons I'm sure others do as well
If I find myself blocked, I don't waste a second thinking "why" its a waste of my time and energy
If you need that closure you'll be spending a lot of time trying to figure it out |
