write notes to people .. thats what I did .. ive also been advised that since I can now 'squeak' not to try and speak too much as this will put undue pressure on the larynx and may make the healing process slower .. its a nightmare !!

I had it once and it lasted for about 2 weeks.

The core period was around 8-9 days during which I couldn't speak and of course, at the time, my staff loved it as I couldn't shout at them!

There is no magical cure; listen to what your GP or medical advice given, take any drugs prescribed and rest the voice too.

Of course, you could always try a new occupation whilst you are ill, try making Heavy Breathing Pervy Phone Calls!

You must rest your voice...No talking...lots of fluids and paracetemol are about all you can do. I get recurring bouts of it...Get a pad and pen...It is easy to get frustrated trying to write things as people ask you questions so if thathappens, hit then with the pad and pen...Worked for me...lol

I would be in work but I got a virus too and ear infection in both ears so that is what has knocked me for six...also the most annoying cough known to man...,

mine is also viral which means that no tablets will have an impact on it .. the only thing that will impact on it is hot drinks as these help the larynx which is what has shut the voice box down

Gargle with Corsodyl. Read the instructions carefully 'cos it can discolour your teeth but it really works.
