Does anyone else read through the forum….on other sites, I’m definitely not talking about this site…..and find themselves thinking ‘What is actually going on here? Is this place for real?’ because there’s so much craziness going on that never gets pointed out as being crazy and is just considered normal?
For instance……on other sites, I’m definitely not talking about this site……people will post a statement claiming something to be true that is absolute nonsense and obviously not true but no one questions it, and if someone does ever question it that person gets vilified for being overly picky. I don’t mean someone making out something happened that is obviously a fantasy, I mean someone saying something as fact that everyone should know is false, like the moon rises in the morning and sets at night. And following on from that, loads of people do claim things have actually happened to them that are way too far fetched and completely fantastical to be true but obviously it’s wrong to accuse someone of being a liar without proof, but when the person is questioned further about the subject they either get defensive, contradict themselves, say something else equally as far fetched, or anything else apart from being able to say anything to make it more believable. And these forums…..on other sites, definitely not this site…..are full of threads that are all about the same topics and are full of completely pointless posts, for instance starting a thread saying ‘who loves *insert something that 90% of people like*?’ And then there will be loads of replies just saying ‘I like it’ in various different ways, and the next day there will be the same thread with the same replies.
I could give many more examples of craziness that goes on in these forums….definitely not this forum though……because the list is so long.
I’m just wondering if I’m the only person who notices this or do most people also notice it? I feel like most of the people in the forum….on other sites, definitely not this site…..are either a bit crazy or they’re in on a joke or secret that I’m not in on….or the other explanation is that everyone in the forum is totally sane and normal and I’m the crazy one. |

I know there are crazy people saying crazy things all over the internet but no where else have I known it go completely ignored and normalised, with people even posting in agreement to something absurd. It’s not the craziness I’m questioning, it’s the complete acceptance of craziness. |

Well, every time I’m one here someone at some point will start a thread with a post saying ‘who likes naughty wives’ or something very similar to that, and then loads of people will reply saying either ‘I like them’ or ‘I am one’ or ‘I wish I had one’.

I think everyone knew I was talking about this forum, you’re really accusing me of talking BS? I thought I made it pretty clear that I was talking about this forum whilst protecting myself from getting in trouble from the mods by not actually saying I was talking about this site. If you think I was talking BS then you’ve taken what I said way too literally.

The way of the world is that when someone says something that isn’t true or is obviously a lie people comment on it and either correct them or question them. That never happens here.
For instance, when ever there’s a conversation about circumcision there’s always a few people who say they’ve had it done and they’re more sensitive afterwards. I know from personal experience that this isn’t true, in facts the absolute opposite is true, and basic knowledge of biology and nerves would tell you that. So why am I the only person who ever corrects them for saying it and why does the same untruth get said multiple times in every thread? |

If I’d made it obvious that I was talking about this site then I thought i might have got in trouble with the mods for being overly critical (I’ve been banned for that before) so I attempted to say i wasn’t talking about this site in a way that made it clear I was talking about this site…..
Similar to when someone says ‘asking for a friend’ when they’re really asking for themselves but don’t want to make it obvious.
Im sure there’s a word for it but i don’t know what it is. |

There are morning threads, evening threads and various themed threads on different days. The forum evolves as people leave and new people join. You either join in or don’t. The choice is yours. On some days I have nothing to contribute, other days I might have a chat, or drop a nonsense comment. But if it bugs me I switch off. I don’t see the problem. It’s voluntary you know… |

All I’m doing is asking why it’s so accepted here that people are going to tell lies, make up fantasies as if they’re true etc, why doesn’t anyone ever question them? That is all I’m asking, im not criticising anyone, im not saying it annoys me, im not saying I want to leave, I was just asking that question and explaining why I was asking it.
Why am I getting so much hassle for asking that and someone can post that a circumcised dick is more sensitive than an uncut dick without getting questioned? You’re basically proving my point. |

A lot of people are here for light hearted chat so can’t be arsed with threads that don’t interest them or arguments not worth starting. It’s an escape for many. You will see many disputes on threads. Just not all. I’ve only skimmed tonight as not much is making sense to me. But I do a lot of eye rolling and logging off. |

But people do correct people, all the time, when it comes to facts. Whether the person being corrected believes them is another matter. But if someone says something has happened to them, how are we to know it's not true?
The point about repetitive posts is a little different...
I may be inadvertently proving your point, as I'm not really sure what it is!

Sorry, I didn’t see this question. The craziness I was referring to there is war, innocent people getting killed, kidn@pp€d, starved, blown up. Finding out the government was in a shambles during covid and didn’t follow the rules that they put in place, Home Secretary calling people living on the streets is a lifestyle choice and that the police force is biased…..stuff like that.

But people do correct people, all the time, when it comes to facts. Whether the person being corrected believes them is another matter. But if someone says something has happened to them, how are we to know it's not true?

If I see a post that is obviously a lie then I ask them questions about it so that they have to expand on their lie and they pretty much always end up contradicting themselves or get very angry and defensive. That’s what happens in the real world but it doesn’t happen here. Do you just accept everything everyone says as the truth even if it obviously isn’t just because you can’t prove it’s a lie? No you are not the only person to challenge the ideas of others.
Many people challenge what they consider to be misinformation but they choose their battles wisely as their main reason for coming here is to socialise not correct others misunderstandings.
You do assume a lot about people and events.
If you really want to make a difference to the way people understand the world they live in , there are better places to do it than a forum on a sex site.

To be honest I’m not actually talking about the lounge specifically, I rarely post in it, it’s the swingers room I’m talking about but this seemed like the correct place to post as it wasn’t about swinging. I’m not on about causing arguments either, just correcting untruths and questioning blatant lies, it doesn’t have to be an argument. Nonsense is different from untruths and lies.
Maybe I’m a bit over sensitive about people telling lies, i really hate it in every walk of life, not just here, and I think that when people are blatantly lying they should be challenged rather than just accept it.

I just think it’s disrespectful to the site when people talk about fantasies as if they’re real and talk about doing things that no one ever does. It gives an inaccurate reflection of the lifestyle and turns it into something it isn’t.
If I was on a football forum and someone posted about a goal they scored for their Sunday league team where they dribbled past every opposition player 3 times and then scored with a shot from the half way line everyone would tell them to shut up. But if someone here with a blatantly fake couples profile posts about inviting 20 men to his house to fuck his wife people reply saying how cool it is and they wish they were there. |

On some days I have nothing to contribute, other days I might have a chat, or drop a nonsense comment. But if it bugs me I switch off. I don’t see the problem. It’s voluntary you know…
I gave an example above. And again, it doesn’t bother me that people post things that are factually incorrect, I just think it’s weird that no one ever corrects people who do post things that are factually incorrect or question people who say things that are obviously made up fantasies.
All I’m doing is asking why it’s so accepted here that people are going to tell lies, make up fantasies as if they’re true etc, why doesn’t anyone ever question them? That is all I’m asking, im not criticising anyone, im not saying it annoys me, im not saying I want to leave, I was just asking that question and explaining why I was asking it.

Because people let others have their conversation without lots of others jumping in too… I know what you mean but, having been here donkeys I see daily arguments so I’m not sure where this nobody challenges anything comes from. It’s not a serious place the lounge. It’s full of nonsense.
To be honest I’m not actually talking about the lounge specifically, I rarely post in it, it’s the swingers room I’m talking about but this seemed like the correct place to post as it wasn’t about swinging. I’m perfectly chilled, i actually enjoy picking them up on it and imagining them panicking as they try to explain their way out of a lie. I don’t get angry about it, I just want to make it uncomfortable for them when they lie so that they think twice about doing it again. I’m not an angry person and I certainly don’t let a stranger on the internet affect my mood but when someone calls me a ‘BS supporter’ (I don’t really know exactly what that is but I know it’s intended as an insult) and tries to twist what im saying then I’ll stand my ground. I won’t be losing any sleep over it though |

For instance……on other sites, I’m definitely not talking about this site……people will post a statement claiming something to be true that is absolute nonsense and obviously not true but no one questions it, and if someone does ever question it that person gets vilified for being overly picky. I don’t mean someone making out something happened that is obviously a fantasy, I mean someone saying something as fact that everyone should know is false, like the moon rises in the morning and sets at night. And following on from that, loads of people do claim things have actually happened to them that are way too far fetched and completely fantastical to be true but obviously it’s wrong to accuse someone of being a liar without proof, but when the person is questioned further about the subject they either get defensive, contradict themselves, say something else equally as far fetched, or anything else apart from being able to say anything to make it more believable. And these forums…..on other sites, definitely not this site…..are full of threads that are all about the same topics and are full of completely pointless posts, for instance starting a thread saying ‘who loves *insert something that 90% of people like*?’ And then there will be loads of replies just saying ‘I like it’ in various different ways, and the next day there will be the same thread with the same replies.
I could give many more examples of craziness that goes on in these forums….definitely not this forum though……because the list is so long.
I’m just wondering if I’m the only person who notices this or do most people also notice it? I feel like most of the people in the forum….on other sites, definitely not this site…..are either a bit crazy or they’re in on a joke or secret that I’m not in on….or the other explanation is that everyone in the forum is totally sane and normal and I’m the crazy one. I should probably elaborate on this before it is challenged.
1. What some people see as lies is often personal experience for others.
2. What some people see as truth is often true to them.
3. What random people post on the internet has no bearing on most people's lives.
4. What has no bearing on other people's lives is ignored rather than challenged by them.
5. Ignoring is not the same as ignorance. It's loosely translated as can't be arsed.
6. Challenging "facts" with different "facts" more often than not causes the challenger to be challenged by the "fact" checkers and suddenly we are playing Chinese whispers.
7. While we are distracted, some people are swinging and having sex.
8. Some of those have been 'napped by aliens and sex involves anal probing which is a pain in the arse or so I've been told by those who escaped and returned to tell their tale.

Is this place for real?’ because there’s so much craziness going on that never gets pointed out as being crazy and is just considered normal?
For instance……on other sites, I’m definitely not talking about this site……people will post a statement claiming something to be true that is absolute nonsense and obviously not true but no one questions it, and if someone does ever question it that person gets vilified for being overly picky. I don’t mean someone making out something happened that is obviously a fantasy, I mean someone saying something as fact that everyone should know is false, like the moon rises in the morning and sets at night. And following on from that, loads of people do claim things have actually happened to them that are way too far fetched and completely fantastical to be true but obviously it’s wrong to accuse someone of being a liar without proof, but when the person is questioned further about the subject they either get defensive, contradict themselves, say something else equally as far fetched, or anything else apart from being able to say anything to make it more believable. And these forums…..on other sites, definitely not this site…..are full of threads that are all about the same topics and are full of completely pointless posts, for instance starting a thread saying ‘who loves *insert something that 90% of people like*?’ And then there will be loads of replies just saying ‘I like it’ in various different ways, and the next day there will be the same thread with the same replies.
I could give many more examples of craziness that goes on in these forums….definitely not this forum though……because the list is so long.
I’m just wondering if I’m the only person who notices this or do most people also notice it? I feel like most of the people in the forum….on other sites, definitely not this site…..are either a bit crazy or they’re in on a joke or secret that I’m not in on….or the other explanation is that everyone in the forum is totally sane and normal and I’m the crazy one. "

I should probably elaborate on this before it is challenged.
1. What some people see as lies is often personal experience for others.
2. What some people see as truth is often true to them.
3. What random people post on the internet has no bearing on most people's lives.
4. What has no bearing on other people's lives is ignored rather than challenged by them.
5. Ignoring is not the same as ignorance. It's loosely translated as can't be arsed.
6. Challenging "facts" with different "facts" more often than not causes the challenger to be challenged by the "fact" checkers and suddenly we are playing Chinese whispers.
7. While we are distracted, some people are swinging and having sex.
8. Some of those have been 'napped by aliens and sex involves anal probing which is a pain in the arse or so I've been told by those who escaped and returned to tell their tale.

lol yep this is a good summary.
Particularly when it comes to swinging and sex our "truth" is often shaped by our own experiences. Some of the things I've done won't be believable to some others. Ditto some of things others claim to have don't seem that believable to me but who knows. And when it comes to sex there is thing called fantasy Best to focus on meeting people for lots of great sex and not worry too much about online intellectual masturbation. |
