Sir Michael Caine

I would have to disagree, iv definitely seen range from his work. One kf my favourite comedies 'dirty rotten scoundrels' stars him and Steve Martin and they bounce of each other in that film to create comedy gold. Another one of his less known films I enjoy is a horror film from the 80s called 'the hand' defo worth a watch.

Watching The Forth Protocol now…
Pierce Brosnan watching his neighbours having a swinging party and feeling horny…
Plus the gorgeous Joanna Cassidy playing his Russian agent wife.. Loved her as the snake replicant woman in Blade Runner |

Very relieved Michael is still ticking.
Brilliant actor, yes he's had some iffy performances but he's bound to after acting for over 173 years.
"Dirty rotten scoundrels" and "A man who would be King" amongst my favourites |

Brilliant character actor and more versatile than people give him credit for.
And a genius managing his career too!
He always said it is essential to keep working even if some of the films aren’t great, and by doing this he has remained in the public eye and a star since the early 60s.
What a life he has had. |

Michael Caine is a great actor - any war films he's been in like Zulu, A Bridge Too Far, The Eagle has landed, Escape to Victory, etc he's been brilliant in! I loved him in The Italian Job!! He was also fantastic in Education Rita along with Julie Walters!!
They're just a few examples!! The much later films he's been in haven't been great but fair play to him for wanting to still act at his age - he's 90 don't forget!!
There's no actor like him to be honest!! He's done serious acting and comedy!! |

"Don't blame the actor.
Blame the director.
Now, the master of the accents was Sean Connery... "
Not sure of the relevance of accents. Thought we were talking about being an actor not an impressionist. |

Get Carter, Man who would be King, Alfie, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Muppet Christmas Carol, The Italian Job and The Ipcress File - Brilliant.
Beyond the Poseidon Adventure, Jaws 4(The Revenge) Not so good
But on the whole, he’s a good actor. |

His speech in the "Dark Knight Returns" on dealing with violent people with different values from your own, is classic, and delivered brilliantly.
"some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn." |

Have to disagree, think he's terrific.
He has made some awful films, which he himself has acknowledged. I believe in the film industry they're called "paycheck films".
One of them was Jaws 4. Apparently when asked about it he said "I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."
What a guy |

He’s an outstanding actor
Too much to list but look at his filmography on wiki
So many great films in eras before all that action and CGI came in
When actors carried a film
He readily admits that a lot of the crap he did was simply for the pay check
What a gentleman too I love all his interviews

Sir Michael Cain, Oscar winner.
Even he will admit his has been in some terrible movies, but he has a large family and they all wanted their own homes he says.
Double Oscar winner who's favourite film for me is dirty rotten scoundrels or sleuth, the Italian job or Hannah and her sisters or the ipcress file I could go on and on.
One of the greats. |

The Great escaper is his last movie, I haven't seen it, but since his acting brought me to tears in just the trailer for it, I don't think the guy can be that bad.
All actors have shown bad acting in their careers. Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Jack Nicholson all of them. |

He’s generally viewed as the master technician when it comes to working on camera. He’s a relaxed leading man with a terrific stillness - he was not called in to play characters, but to bring his quiet charisma to star parts. No one could have done Carter better. Or Alfie. |

I like him, I like the work he has done over the years and he is one of the very few international film stars that has managed to maintain a life long presence at top level, without disappearing up their own arse v |
