Ok Fabsters
I’m drifting towards mash potato but that’s a bit ‘Meh’, I suppose I could drop some life in it with a few garnishes but again that could be a bit ‘Meh’.
Anyone have any interesting combos? |

"Homemade big chunky chips, peas and grilled tomato and corn on the cob."
If it’s chips, which is down the pecking order, the recipes gotta be something special. |

Other foods with steak? I'm a bit confused. If there's space on the plate then more steak?
Ok as a hypothetical through experiment for research purposes.
Dauphinoise. I like garlic butter on a steak, I can see how that could compliment it. |

"Triple cooked chips, par boiled first and then tossed in flour and garlic salt mix.
Fried in small of duck fat.
"
I’m reserving this for Friday. Duck fat usually appears on the list for Christmas ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

I’ve decided…
I’m going with parmentier potatoes cooked in garlic butter, dash of thyme & rosemary. Then finished off under the grill with another glaze of garlic butter and bulbs of garlics situated for an infused finish.

Depends if you want your potatoes crispy or creamy. Chips are my go to(tripple cooked if dining out) but really light but crispy roast pots, creamed spinach or buttered leaks on the side and a good sauce or gravy mmmmmmm |

If your mashed potato is “meh”, you’re doing it wrong.
The potato needs to be simple in flavour rather than competing with the steak and confusing the palate.
If you have a decent sauce with the steak then mash is perfect. |

I don’t have sauce with my steak. That would overpower the juices of the steak itself. |

"The best potato to accompany steak is more steak.
Potatoes are for the poor."
I don't really like steak so I'll swap my steak for your pots if you like?
I'be been in a very swapish mood today

I don’t have any potatoes.
I’m curious…
Why did you order steak if you don’t like steak?

"Hasslebacks with melted cheese on top or dauphinois "
Hasselbacks are quality, I melt butter in a saucepan, add mixed herbs, black pepper, salt and a bit of garlic powder, and I baste them every 20 mins |

Yes, I was busy at work.
My choice would be rice with peas cooked together, but any other potato except sweet potato.
Depends how posh you are.
Mashed , roasted or Dauphinoise are the best choices.
Most people eat it with chips though.
Which is boring, unless it's chunky triple cooked rosemary chips.
Now I'm hungry... |

Was that comment about the poor deliberately offensive? Or did you think it was funny? Either way, embarrassing comment |

High Lighthouse! |
Warm German potato salad is my go-to for this.
Boiled new pots, add nice fried bacon (chopped up) and raw onion, then whack in a load of your best mayo and some German style mustard (or what ever you have to be honest), "season to taste". |

I’m laughing at your embarrassing comment as I’m commenting on it…

Small cubed potatoes, rinsed and dried. Pan fried for a couple of minutes in olive oil, garlic and Himalayan salt then air fried in the Ninja for 12 mins until crispy and golden. |
