Why do so many people are so loud and noisy these days? Everywhere you go people just do as they wish with no consideration on how it affects others around tbem. I am not suggesting people should not enjoy themselves when out with friends and family but so many are just rude and inconsiderate. Do we not care about anybody else anymore as long as we just have a good time? Thoughts and experiences please. |

"What is socially acceptable to the old isn't the same as what's socially acceptable to the young."
If only it was just the young but age has nothing to do with. More about how respectful you are for others in my opinio of course |

I've noticed a pretty serious decline in consideration for others. Not that it was ever ideal, and I'm a bit sensitive to sounds, but the last few years have been appreciably worse. Coughing without covering their mouths (not toddlers. adults. gross), yelling at staff, complete obliviousness to the needs of others, etc etc. |

Yep, I feel this! I have earplugs with me a lot of the time so I don't get overwhelmed |

I have special earplugs that reduce the intensity of certain pitches without seriously interfering with my ability to hear what's going on around me. It's wonderful for my anxiety. |

My nextdoor neighbour is in her 70's and her sister is slightly older her son is in his 50's
They are the most noisy selfish bastards ever.
Age has nothing to do with it. |

I’ve tried ear plugs, but I find them uncomfortable. I just tune everything out as best I can, and when I get home and all I can hear is the wind in the trees, I breathe out and relax. |

Agreed. I do find myself going "kids these days... Jesus Swing you're getting way too old". But my complaints are about changes in the same age group. It was not normal several years ago for a (say) 40 year old woman to cough with spittle flying everywhere in a way that you'd scold a child for; nor to go from zero to banshee when told she can't have something. |

I have Calmer by Flare (they also sell keychain attachments, which is handy). Other brands are available |

I get annoyed with this, loud conversations on phones, no matter where you are, whole world doesn't meet to know your business. People who spoil gigs by talking loudly when the artist is singing/talking. |

Very true, Shouting at phones anywhere is so annoying, screaming kids too. Very quick story, I am hearing impaired quite badly, anyhow got hearing aids for the first time 15 years ago, wore them for one week, I just could not stand the ambient noise of the world, had no clue how loud and noisy supermarkets were. |
