Favorite female Metal singer?

Let's be honest.

Most female singers make metal sound like pop music.

Except when they make pop songs sound heavier.

Doro (Ex-Warlock) for me.

I saw Butcher Babies at Download by accident a few years ago, they were mental.

"Listen to "Spiritbox" and try to tell me female metal singers sound like pop music."

Not all, but most making metal sound poppy.

I'm not saying it's always a bad thing.

Many male singers make metal sound poppy too and still like them.

Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica) for example.

I still love a few songs.

Skin is an absolute tour de force, I grew up with Skunk Anansie on the radio, and honestly their "hits" do NOT do justice to the sheer power she commands. Absolutely phenomenal live performer.

Yeah, I imagine that would have been quite the show too. You have to have genuine talent to be able to pull off an acoustic set, so I imagine Skunk Anansie would have smashed it.

It's not so much that.

Warlock were one of the many good but not great metal bands for me.

Threw all the right shapes live, but were just dull as dishwater..

No oomph!! Don't hate them, just meh.

Bit like Manowar or Accept..a few good songs here and there. But not quite doing it for me.

I was using those bands as an example of the sorts of bands I felt warlock compared to when I was explaining my take on them.

I have already given a list of female metal singers.. I could name about another 50 odd.. but I need to get up early for work

Beth Hart has an incredible blues rock voice, just check her out with Jeff Beck.

Believe it or not, Miley Cyrus can really rock, check her out on YT belting out some Led Zeppelin.

Finally, I doubt anyone will have heard of Meghan Krauss, she was on the album Maragold, a group formed by the incredible rock fusion guitarist Gregg Howe. She is one of the best female rock voices I have heard.
