On the hole, a big con.

However, we did get a service plan a lot cheaper for one of our cars last year.

But on the hole, a con, just look up previous prives during 12 months and you will no what I mean.

You can get stuff like those smart speakers etc if you really want one or give as a gift as a couple of weeks before christmas, prices will be back up - othewise, at best, over-hyped.

It seems that black Friday sales have started so much earlier this year.

Don't forget about cyber Monday also!

I've had a few bargains in the past, don't generally go hunting fir thing unless it's needed or going to be a gift.

I'm pretty sure everybody knows that. It's not like America where you can pick up a 55" TV for $10, so long as you're willing to defend your prize by beating up three people on the way to a checkout

Black Friday in UK really is a damp-squib. Anywhere near decent reductions are only a pretty specific area of products, with others creatively managed to make them seem like bargain (raising the prices a week before "reducing" them back down and calling it cheaper).

Contrast this to Black Friday in America, where you really get bargains, and not just on old stock. Here in the UK, it's merely a buzzword, with only a limited number of bargains to be had.

If anyone remembers the Steve Martin film "The Jerk", the selections of bargains on offer is like Martin letting the winners of the carnival game pick their prize from the selection on offer:

"Anything... in this general area, right in here... Anything, below the stereo, and on this side of the Bicentennial glasses... Anything between the ashtray, and the thimbles... Anything in this three inches... Right in here, this area, that includes the Chiclets, but not the erasers...."

OK, rant over. Sound the "all-clear".

I’m after something very particular, so if it’s discounted during the event….thats perfect for me. I don’t buy stuff for the sake of it like a lot of the shopping public out there.

I saw the Rivendell Lego set for 15% off.

I don’t need to eat for three weeks, right? Right?!

I am not wasting my energy chasing "bargains" that may not exist. I have bigger fish to fry.

On the WHOLE research must be carried out before impulse buying 👍🏽 but this goes for all kinds of sales/bogof deals outside of Black Friday 😁

Every day of the year there’s some great savings if you shop around for what you’re looking to buy at the time 😉

Stay savvy fabsters 🤪

I needed a new winter coat. I had my eye on a rather nice North Face one I had seen for £370. I decided to wait till yesterday and I picked it up for £260. I was very pleased with that.

It’s just a warehouse clearing exercise. Ever noticed how it’s always the crappy stuff that nobody buys, that’s going cheap?
