A friend of mine would like to hold a party for swingers (more than a social) in her pub, obviously closed to the public. If she charges for attendees, could she be in trouble re her license? Or any advice on how to do this? |

If its just a 'private function- then no.
If everyone is fucking on the pool table/bar/in the snug....then yes. |

Likely to be the latter but will be a' private function' if that makes sense. I.e no paid admission on the door |

Then yes.
Her licence won't likely have any mention of sexual activity on the premises.
It's why swingers clubs, pubs and nightclubs have different licenses. |

There could be a risk to her license as a pub, should any complaints be made. If it was totally concealed and people didn't talk, them it may never be known about. Sex on the premises establishment licences are very tough to get in some areas. I think there may be fines of uptp c. £20,000 for breaking the rules, with the police and local authority jointly granting licences. Her regular business is likely to be her priority. It's a lovely idea but she does need to be cautious ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |
