Yes, my body and mind can respond to music quite dramatically.

It can change my mood, turn me on and send goosebumps scattering across my skin.

Em x

I may like a piece of music because the vibe it gives of can affect my emotions, for better or worse.

I may like a piece of music just because the sounds being created are pleasant to listen too.

"Evening everyone "

Ohhhhh good question OP!

It depends. Some strike a chord deep, for example Pharrel and 'Happy' I can't help but be really happy and end up dancing like a lune around the kitchen. While other songs like Arctic monkeys -do I wanna know and Portishead - Glory box make me feel sexy. Disturbed -sounds of silence is awe inspiring as is the three tenors- o sole mio. So they invoke feelings in me.

However, some songs I just like or think 'ahhh this is pap'. They just trigger like, dislike or this is ok.

The ones that invoke an emotion they are like golden nuggets.

Love it.

I don’t know how strange this is, but sometimes if a song really resonates with me, it makes me want to inexplicably shout out loud or make some kind of primal noise. Probably depends on my emotional state at the time as well, but I’ve experienced it with joy and sadness, so it’s not only if depressed or frustrated or anything.

I’ve tried searching to see if it common sensation, but the results just seemed to suggest I was perhaps a little bit mental

Interested to hear if anyone else has experienced this.

100% get this! If a song really connects it hits a part of me I either make noise and shout or jump about

Music is great, it lifts my mood, some songs make me sad or remind me of times and people throughout my life, it wakes me up on my drive to work, helps me unwind on way home from work, I listen to music rather than watch TV

Definitely appreciate music from my head to my toe and righy into my soul. I love hearing something for the first time that gives me goosebumps, and then I listen to it over and over, and then build a new playlist around it. I love all genres, I do believe anyone should be closed off to a whole genre of music. Keeping looking and you'll find something that moves you. I'm not a great dancer but the right song has me shaking my ass about my room and loving life. Lifts and negative mood, the right song can just elevate you out of nowhere. And on the other hand it can take you from a positive place into sad or negative place. Sounds difficult to get it right but like all you need are 2 ears and a brain, it's that easy. Go music!

I can appreciate a song for it’s melody or it’s words or how it makes me feel.

Quite simply both.

I listen to music for how it sounds but there's also there are those tunes that invoke emotions.

I can't think of any other reason why i would listen to anything.

I can't imagine life without music. There is an incredibly random jukebox constantly playing in my head. It feeds my soul
