How do you cope when your last fledgeling fies the nest .

My daugter has announced shes moving out in a few mths and tbh im dreading it.

Shes not my first to leave, shes the 6th but there has only been me and her for the last 2 years, shes my bestest mate ever soo gonna miss her.

Im currently looking for new job desperately as i detest the one im in and possibly a college course one night a week to keep me busy but the thougut of coming home to empty house fills me with dread ..any suggestions

No suggestions. I'm a way off this happening and dread it already.

I feel for you.

there is always the flip side... when my 18 yr old stepdaughter goes to uni you won't see our house for flags.

i'll cuddle her mum tho...

think yourself lucky you have the house to yourself, you can invite men round whenever you like.

dogs are good company too.

Great when our last son moved out as we could have meets at home. I just don't get this thing with mothers and daughters being best friends. Far as I'm concerned my kids are just that.

imagine your electricity bill halving. imagine doing one wash a week. imagine going out all day and when you get back, everything is exactly as it was when you left. imagine being able to have sex anytime you want in your own house. these are things i look forward to as i sit in my tidy lonely house when my kids have gone. small comfort but some comfort?
