I suspect somebody has done that to me tonight after getting turned down then slating me and trying to threaten me with my job. I wouldn’t give them the pleasure of naming and shaming not only do I not value their opinion and it goes against fab rules but I’m a tad too old for them games.

No I wouldn't but I have been named on a few over the years which I thought was a bit sad especially as we had never had any direct engagement or even spoken and it was their response to a forum comment.

I wouldn't name.
I also wouldn't allude to any bad beef (fab beef ha) I had with fabbers or forumers. It's too small a world, there's only about three degrees of freedom, and this isn't Facebook.

I really don't look at updates enough. I get bollocked by my friends for not fabbing their photos sometimes because I haven't clicked the update tab. |

Local update drama reminds me, I was a small part of a Mission Impossible style thriller lol. Story time:
There was this woman in my local updates whose profile I had seen before and briefly spoken to about astronomy (really). Anyway, one day I see a status update from her: "I need a woman to help me with confirming my suspicions about xxxx" (it was the username of a man). I was intrigued but given she had asked for a woman, I ignored it and moved on. Later that day, I chanced upon her profile once again and I could see what was happening - she had changed everything in her profile - location (I think to somewhere NW), name, profile text, visible pics and verifications. One thing I could see though is that the mobile near me showed 3-5 miles away (because it uses GPS).
I didn't want this whole plan to be derailed by a stupid detail, so I messaged her asking if she was going to do it herself and alerted her about mobile near me and how to turn it off. She told me that the guy could be a friend's husband and she was asking for someone else as she was worried he'd recognise her. The photos she kept were not identifying enough though, so I thought her plan could work. She'd message the guy and ask for a face pic (he only had body photos on his profile).
Well, you can guess the ending, he took the bait and turns out it was him! She later posted an update saying xxxx is a cheat and you should block and report him. I feel sad for her friend, but at least she now knows what her husband was doing behind her back. |

The site and forum is just a slight distraction from day to day living. Occasionally nice to engage or meet those on the same wavelength.
What it isn’t for me, is a place to be taken seriously, certainly not serious enough to name and shame on my profile. If you’re doing that I’m afraid you really need to get a life. |

I've had the flip side of this.
3 fabbers including a daily forum poster "borrowed" my pics and copied and pasted my entire bio as their own.
They didn't display the pics but attached them to private messages but couldn't be arsed removing my name from them so people were assuming I had more than one account.
I wasn't aware of any of this until numerous people got in touch to tell me or ask what was going on.
I couldn't see the profiles in question because they had blocked me to stop me from noticing.
Some of them reported the profiles and then told me that the forum regular had changed his bio but was posting statuses slagging me off for getting him in trouble.
He didn't get in much trouble because he continued to post on the forums for a long time after. |
