I'll be glad if the camper is still upright come morning.

It's rocking. And not due to anything related to the bed.......

We live in a 400 year old cottage with Kent peg tiles on the roof, right next to a river, lined with trees. So we could lose the roof, or get flooded, or have the house squashed flat by a tree… or all of the above. Ailsa and the little have gone to bed, but I don’t think any of us will sleep tonight x

I recently sold a 350 year old cottage. When I bought it the survey said the roof needed replacing. 16 years later and the roof is still fine and I didn’t replace a single tile. They were well made back then. The ships timbers are rock solid.

Hope you guys are ok tonight. I imagine it’s going to be a long night.

Currently in Jersey visiting family and it’s terrifying outside. So much damage has been done.

I keep thinking my windows are about to blow in.

Honestly never experienced anything like this not even during the storm of ‘87

On the BBC website, there a video of a woman asleep, she woken by the wind and the window shatters. There's a cot next to the bed, but I can't see a baby in there, thankfully.

It doesn't look like she is injured, it could if been worst.

Can't image how strong the winds were overnight in the Channel island/Cornwall.

The mum in question managed to grab her 3 month old and escape safely.

The storm has caused devastation on the island. We experienced a mini tornado .

I have never known anything like it.

We only lost a few roof tiles, others were not so lucky.
