You only pass .......

Not too many years ago, I’d have had a grand response to this question, about kindness and compassion and leaving ones mark upon the world.
But now, for the most part, I don’t care if people remember me or not. For the few people who truly matter, I hope they remember that I loved them, that I fought for them, and did everything I could to bring stability and lightness to their lives Xx |

Which would mean that people remember you as someone who behaved with kindness, patience and respect.
Asking how you’d like to be remembered is basically the same as asking how you think you behave now. |

I’d like to be remembered fondly.
I’d love to be remembered as I remember my gran. A formidable woman whose love & kindness knew no bounds. She was a safe space for all. Her funeral lined the streets xx

Just to be remembered would be enough.
Everyone will have their own opinion. I'd prefer it to be that way than to try and sway their view to make me feel better before I shuffle off. |

For what it’s worth, i think the second paragraph is an incredibly grand response to the question. I’m actually quite moved after reading it, how we’re remembered by our loved ones is all that really matters, we meet thousands of people throughout our lives and they’ll all have a different opinion of us, some will like us, some will hate us and some won’t be bothered either way, we can’t please everyone so there’s no point trying. But when it comes to loves ones there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for them, when it comes down to the crunch, looking after loved ones and having loved ones who’ll look after us when we need it is all that really matters.

Your name’s John, possibly the easiest name to remember….even if they don’t remember your name and have to guess they’ll probably say John haha (John or Dave so there’s a 50/50 chance anyway) |

Being so confident that most people you know will already be dead is a bit ominous….I’m not actually accusing you of this but it does sound a bit like you’re planning to pick off everyone you know, one by one, until there’s no one left to remember you when you die…. |

Not talking about on here but the people in your life, you must hope they think of you in a good way and remember the knowledge and life experiences you pass on? I know I try and teach my daughter everyday the principles of being a good person, I make everyday I have with her fun so I hope she remembers the fun memories we share, I hope my brothers in arms remember as always having an open door for them to come see me whenever they want to, for good or bad things. And I hope they raise a glass on Remembrance Day like I do to the ones gone before me.
