Getting out of the cut/bulk regime

For those that go to the gym and constantly working on that "perfect body" will understand the pain.

Over the years and since leaving the army I have always gone through cycles of cutting and bulking and I have been a victim of this. Mainly due to illness falling at the wrong time and I have gone from being slim with no muscle or kinda fat.

I have decided now to do a recomp. Slowly lose weight and maintain some muscle. I have gone to the extreme of engaging with a personal trainer to help.

Who else here has done a recomp and was you happy with the results? How long did you do it for?

Hiya, I don’t know much about this from a personal standpoint but I watch my son go through a lot of what you’ve mentioned. He’s a total gym fiend and been cutting/bulking taking supplements for the last 3yrs. Seems a hell of a lot of stress on the body. Does your gym have dedicated PT’s? He goes to the UFC gym and they know their stuff for sure. Is there one local to you?

I am using a guy who has just gained his IFBB pro card. I have known for a few years and decided.to ask him for help and he recommended doing a recomp.

I have always got my nutrition wrong. The key behind a recomp is getting that right.

~~

I’m at the beginning of a bulk and enjoying eating more. That said I know it can’t last forever, but I know building feels slow. I’d say a coach would be the way forward, I’ve had one for nearly 6 months now and I feel like I’m in the best shape of my life
