Nah, it goes to China.
That or it changes to a memory we cannot easily recall. We can then strive to re-remember, often creating false memories. Our original experience is sill there though, somewhere. When people are reintroduced to forgotten memories (a nice thing to happen sometimes), it's quite rare they don't remember they originally had them!
