Kryptonite to me.
Seriously, I've tried to enjoy watching it and getting feels for an arbitrary team - but I can't.
At best, I enjoy the highlights.
What am I missing? |

Sport is tribal - it is very rare to see a match of such good quality that you can watch it without caring for one of the teams.
The “best” games in any sport I watch are where the kids are playing because I am invested in the outcome. Other than that - I don’t care. |

If you’ve tried it and not feeling it, then you’re not really missing out.
I’d say to stop trying and watch another sport, or do something else. |

Tough one this.
For me the fact that it’s all hugely accessible via tv now may have had an impact. You can access what you want when you want at home which is a fairly limited experience.
When I was young , pre sky etc if you wanted to watch football you really had to go. So I got the full immersive experience, the bus journey there and the anticipation. The in ground experience ( am sure psychologists would link it to tribalism being routed in our dna) and the relive it with mates on the way home.
Generally the need to go also meant my generation supported a local team too. It became part of the local identity.
Have you tried going to a match or just watch on tv? |

Never been to a match, I've heard that's when some people get the feels. Tbh it's that camaraderie that I wanna join in on, but... Eurgh I just end up judging the sillyness of it all. |

Football - you have to start off with something that you connect with and then go from there. For most people, it's the fact that it's their local team and/or the one their parents supported. However, even without that, you can see if you like the history of the club, the manager or even one of the players. Listen to the fan songs and chants (better in person of course) or get invested into the tactical side of the game. Maybe play fantasy football to enjoy the experience more. There's so many things to try, you'll probably like something, but if not, that's fine - you don't have to force yourself! |

Rugby, take tonight for example two unbelievably class outfits going at it for the World Cup every body will be on the line for the man on your team, whack in the skill levels they got too and this game could be an unbelievable watch for supporter or neutral |
