Counselling helps
Try to identify triggers and avoid or manage those triggers
Try a mindfulness app like “ headspace “
Try and accept that you can only control what you give in life not what you get. I found lots of my anxiety and stress was derived from trying to control things I had no direct control over. |

Don’t worry about.
That isn’t meant as some stupid forum comment but a serious suggestion - a lot of what people worry about _never_ happens. The stuff that does happen is never as bad as people think it might be. Short of death - what is the worse that can happen? |

Speak to a doctor about CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), most nhs trusts now allow you to self refer. I personally found it really helpful and you can do the course online in some instances so you have the freedom to do it at your own pace but with the knowledge you have someone you can call if you need to |

Hey to calm the pinball that is on my head and the downward spiral that I often get, I've found identifying my triggers helps. Asking for help, be it to vent or something like that. Therapy has helped as has grounding when I can feel myself getting her up. So for me the useful one is, just stopping (which is really hard), and thinking of 5things I can hear, then 4 things I can see (be it some thing green or 4 round things etc), 3 I can smell, etc etc.
You've done the first great step in talking about it. Good luck OP |

Find out what the trigger is, then, as my therapist puts it, calm the monkey down that’s causing all the noise.
Breathing exercises as well, in for 4, out for 4. As someone who’s recently recovered from it, this helps along way. |

Have you tried square breathing, in for the count of 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4 then repeat. It takes a lot of concentration when I have tried it I have found myself calming down. |
