I was going to give it a go… but Mexican GP practice, the England women’s nation league, and the palace Spurs game are all on at the same time…. So it became 4th choice..
What was that… European championship darts on ITV2…. Make that 5th choice!!! |

Third place play off.
The equivalent of watching your mate pull a good looking bird while you get lumbered with her dodgy pal.
Taking one for the team. C'mon lads, you've all done it. |

I’m watching.
I’m invested as … well… third place, bronze medal is something that goes down in history.
Any other finish is basically last.
It’s what will define this England teams World Cup as recognition.

"Enjoying the game "
As with the tournament all the way through the refereeing is absolutely fucking embarrassing.
I turned off after the Argentina ten yard forward pass that resulted in a try.
I really hope tomorrows showpiece doesn’t have this absolute wank officiating but I’m pretty sure it will. |

I've never understood the point of the third place play off, who gives a toss which team is third or fourth, it's meaningless. Winning is everything, second is nowhere, and anything below that is an irrelevance |

To be fair, there were other English mistakes in the next ten phases which lead to the try.
It is bizarre that the pass was "checked" and Ok'd, but I do think that refs should be using the video ref less.

It matters for prizes & world ranking. |

Steve Borthwick will use that when he faces the RFU to explain why he should stay in his job. |

If England had scored similarly I’d still be complaining.
The ball was clearly forward, the hands clearly went forward for the pass and the officials said it was fine.
It’s wank.

But every match played has a cumulative effect at determining the world ranking. You don't become number one in the world by winning one game, it happens because you've won lots of games. The world ranking is especially important when tournaments are seeded, as it is used to separate the best teams so they don't play each other in the group stages... obviously that was broken this year by doing the draw far too early. |
