You must not insult people, it's just not the done thing. I appreciate that getting a yellow letter sign that you have mail may be exciting, but it just not is just not cricket!

Maybe if in addition to saying 'hello' you add some nice chat, commenting on something of interest in their profile (though obviously not insulting them as per comment above). It does appear that FAF or attaching a dick pic is not the done thing though.

If someone just says hello then that’s all they will get back, assuming we’re interested. If we’re not we’ll just delete the message on the basis that if they’re not at least going to try to start a conversation, they don’t deserve a reply.
We seldom get insults although ironically we did receive one this morning. They blocked us straight away so we couldn’t reply even if we wanted to. I don’t get why people send insulting messages, like what’s the point? Just a total waste of they’re time |

If you can’t be bothered with more than “hello” (or comparable) then I can’t be bothered to reply.
If I get an insult etc …. I’m a feisty little sod and I quite like a row. If I get them out of the way on here it makes me a nicer person offline. Win/win |
