Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
It's been a bad week for Roobarb and Custard.
Bob Godfrey and Richard Briers going in the same week.
I think we should have a day of all the old cartoons on BBC1 to mark this event. Putting all of the cartoons on the kiddie channels is wrong. |

The gentle and slightly mad humour of days gone by when the big storyline was that the windmill was stuck. |

"Don't know it
What do you mean you don't know it? Although I suppose in television terms 13 years is a big difference for children's programming."
Seriously never seen it or heard of it before fabs! |

We were talking about Hamble and Big Ted at work the other day. The young 'uns just looked at us blankly. |

Poor Hamble, she looked like she had seen better days even in her heyday. I never trusted that Jemima. |

It's Minxie, she does that.
What about the other windows? I always hoped for the arched window. |

"God, this makes me feel old. I remember watching these styles of kids entertainment when I was a small boy. Those were fascinating times."
There's someone I know who looks exactly like Brian from the Magic Roundabout. Surreal programming for children made by people on drugs. It was brilliant. |

I had a massive sticker on my wall of Dougal. Looking back I think all the cartoon makers must have been on drugs.
The Clangers was ace. |

Panic over, Windy Miller to the rescue.
Could always call out Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble & Grub in an emergency though |

Taken me 30 yrs to reach this ask, was Camberwick green along the road from Chigley? Farmer Bell with his truck and forklift takes some visual beating. |

Hamble looked like a peasant woman and Jemima always looked rather smug. |

I liked 'Noggin the Nog'
Does anyone else remember the little girl whos eskimo doll (little Mo) would come to life if she touched the big daisy on her dress?
...or Joe, the little boy who wore bright orange dungarees?

I honour of Bob Godfrey we should go watch his once banned cartoon "The Karma Sutra Rides Again" I remember watching it on the short lived adult version of Tizwas called OTT when I was a young teenager on my B&W portable tv
As for kids TV nothing beats the Magic Roundabout |

Anyone remember Chrystal Tips and Alistair ? , what the hell was all that about .
Charlie's cat failed to inform me about anything because I would normally be behind the sofa where I also sought sanctuary from the Sea Devils on Doctor Who.
Hector's house had the pervy Kiki the frog who would get up on a tall ladder to see what Hector and Fifi were up to !. |
