Songs you love, but can't understand the lyrics?

The reason might be tone, accent, singing style...etc.

So most likely you need to look up the lyrics, if you want to sing along.

Volbeat - Sad man's tongue is my choice.

Radiohead. All of it.

Slowdive “Souvlaki Space Station”.

But there’s bits on most songs. These are just extreme examples.

"The first two kings of Leon albums!"

Because of the crying style of singing?

I can enjoy a lot of songs whilst often having little clue what's probably being communicated

A lot of Stereophonic songs you can’t understand the words and then when you read the words they still don’t make sense as he misses words out of sentences

But yes, I agree, Volbeat are very hard to understand the lyrics on some songs

It happens sometimes when you actually understand the lyrics.

Examples:

Life is Life - Opus

Down Under - Men at Work

I found these fine (and better than their more

Commercial stuff)

They are both brilliant. Aha shake heartbreak is one of my favourite albums. Before they cut their hear and beards and enunciated clearer for commercial radio!

A lot of Sia, she gets me. Some bits I understand, other bits I don't and then when I look at the lyrics I'm like 'Ohhh so that's what she said!'

One of my favourite songs ever is tiesto version of southern sun and despite listening to it thousands of times still can’t make out a fair few of the words

The Cocteau Twins made up their own language so it’s unlikely you’ll be able to decipher it

Tonypandy.

Anything by pearl jam.

Most of the Rammstein stuff as I don't speak German. Though having read the translations, I sometimes think I'm better off not understanding.

Don't ask me why, I've no logical answer but the Gypsy King's, in Spanish, I just love it.
