New to the forums, coffee cup is full, curled up on the sofa, catching up on eastenders and he has gone to work.

Big stack of ironing, need to go out to the shop and dog do to clean up.

But im stuck playing on here, my motivation has ran away.

How do you kick your self up the bum to get on with the day ? Or do i just leave it all till later or even better and do it tommorow ?

Love you all and quite enjoying FAB xx

I’d pictured your husband out grafting daily to provide for you, and you struggling to do what is probably a couple hours light work, and give myself a reality check

Put the phone down now before you get truly sucked into the rabbit hole of fab.

Only allow yourself to pick it back up on the completion of tasks.

Fab is such a distraction! Especially the forums! The absolute best kind of distraction but it doesn’t help when you’ve got stuff that needs to be done haha.

I’ve still not figured out the balance

Manchester(ish).

Make a list.

Do a job.

Cross it off.

Have a break.

Do a job etc.

Don't think, just do 1 job at a time.

As long as you do 1, you're winning.

Good luck.

The trick is to start very small and get the ball going. Once you are up doing something small, you can move up to a bigger task.

If you try with the big task first, you feel overwhelmed. That's why you routinely work out in the morning. There is no additional health benefit to do it early, but once you start with a pro-active day it's easier to keep it going than to have a lazy morning and pretend like you do things later in the day (you won't). The more used you are to being lazy, the more difficult it is to do stuff, the more time of your day you spend laying on your couch watching stuff, the less you get done in the day.

I know from myself. I have days when I want a lazy morning, and then that transitions into a very boring, very unproductive day and I get nothing done. Do that a few days in a row, and I end up living like a slob because I procrastrinate everything.

But once I start getting to annoyed by dirty plates in the sink or clothes everywhere, I start taking care of that, and suddenly I end up cleaning everything up, do some boat work, go out for groceries and collect parcels, build a barn, bring peace to the middle east and find inevitable proof for deities.

Unfortunately I use paper plates at the moment.

Set an alarm to go off every hour and do something for 15 minutes, fill the washing machine, do an online shop, pick up dog mess, etc. You’ll eventually get through the tasks.
