This is a bit of a hobby horse for us - well ok me - Joe.
An old sales boss of mine, when giving a motivational speech, would always say 'be like a rolling stone, gathering moss' I would remind him that the saying is actually the opposite!
Heard on the telly just now 'if its not meant to be, I have to take it on the shoulders'. Bloody cracks I up.

My old boss used to say 'nil desperandum' whenever he was describing an emergency job that had to be done.
'Funky can you do this design mate it's nil desperandum!'
The phrase is actually Latin for 'never despair'.
