Working on match days

This is a bit of a rant so I thought I'd get it off my chest.

When it comes to working on match days especially on a Saturday, I absolutely hate them. Seeing that the retail park I work at is next to a football stadium, it is a pain in the backside on match days. On match days, you can't use your phones because the signal is hogged up by all the idiots in the stadium using their phones. When it comes to going on a 30 minute break, pray you don't go on one before the match starts as everywhere is packed making it hard to find somewhere to eat leaving you know choice but to go back to work pissed off and hungry. When it's time to go home after your shift, good luck getting home if you're unlucky enough to finish at the same time as the match as you'll be stuck in traffic with all the football fanatics.

Ok, rant over

Seeing as the retail park was built at the same time as the stadium, didn't you realise what you were signing up for when you took the job? The thing was built back in about 1996 so not exactly recent.

You know about these problems week in week out. So plan ahead.

Tonypandy.

Try working next to the principality stadium on a rugby international, in a pub, as the only door supervisor.

The thing is, I don't watch football (as I absolutely hate it) so I never know when they're on anyway.

That must be a nightmare.

It’s not that hard to find out the fixtures. Not really much of an excuse for me.

That is ridiculous that they have to act like sore losers when their precious team doesn't win. There have been times where I've thought that football is almost as bad as religion.

They're advertised on a massive billboard outside the stadium.

The OP's problem would appear to be more to do with location than timing!
