When I had my first initial on my profile people would say "I know who you are (not my name)". Yes, very good, go away. |

Apart from last 6 month always had face pic visable.
Decided few days ago to upload and show a recent one considering its nearly halloween.
while face pic hidden never had anyone say they knew me.
I have recognised people over the years from tattoo's ,scars or if photo of them in a pub i know.just by clothes they wear ,build of their body ,what their drinking and fact they stand at same place at the bar everyday etc .
Jobs i have done in the past such as helping my mate behind a bar you get to recognise people by clothes ,stance ,build ,hair colour/style etc even if they have their back to you .
pics taken in homes/gardens where i have done work or friends houses etc.
The photo's on wall etc the decor ,furniture.
Its actually not that difficult if they just partly blanked out a face but showing a full clothed body pic in familar surroundings.
easier if its a couple.
I have never messaged and told them
but if they messaged me i would point out i knew them.Though normally i would have blocked them soon as i knew who they are.

I recognised one person on here once. Took a few vinos to pluck up the courage to message and say hi. I was actually shocked that I got a response, so thank you tor that. But now I’m now blocked?
Here’s hoping that person might unblock me and teach me where I went wrong?

On the rare occasion I push back on this - usually by asking what colour my eyes are or something else they're not likely to get right - they become really pitiful, it was just a ploy for attention, why won't anyone reply, etc etc.
In the abstract I sympathise with people who struggle to get attention. In the specific instance of an implicit threat to out me... not so much. It's a gross power play |
