Thinking of going away for xmas, maybe new year (nothing to keep me here for them now). Possible options are Canaries, Malta, Cyprus (unless anyone has other suggestions). Any info anyone wants to share about these places and things to do there is welcome.... |

I like winter sun (and hot rather than warm) so haven't been to these places. If dry and warm are a preference id avoid Malta as it's pretty wet then I believe? |

I really like Cyprus. You can hire a jeep (they drive in the left) and travel around the island. From Famagusta, the town that was abandoned years ago and no one ever enters, through to all the beautiful beaches through to the gorgeous Troodos mountains. |

"Go to the Canaries. Almost guaranteed sun, and enough swinging clubs and bars to do a different one every day. We particularly love Eden, and Peaches and Cream. Never failed to have fun in either."
nice to know - probably a tad different as a single though.... |

I think all the places you stated could be quite isolating as a single over Christmas. It will be couples and families in the main. I always went abroad over Christmas but went to backpacker friendly places (not the 18yr old kind) and always found them great. People there when you want, and not when you don't! |

Was travelling in Asia in 2015 .. spent hogmanay and new year in Ho Chi Minh City .. it was absolutely mental. Mopeds with 4 people on it every 2 feet across the road nose to tail as far as the eye could see on every street ... I think I'd prefer a warm Spanish beach resort now tbf. |

Tenerife has been our Christmas escape for the past two years, unfortunately not possible this year. Weather is generally lovely (we had a brief storm last year), beaches not overly busy, plenty to do and see across the island. Just a generally lovely, relaxing place for Christmas and NY. I think we'll be back in 2024. |
