Bend the paper clip curved then place it in the middle off a metal wight plate then jam the plate back on to the bar bell

They wouldn’t think to slide the wight off the bar

Being an electrical person I’d turn it into a part of the house wiring. Not gonna say how for obvious reasons but I don’t think they would find it. The added advantage would be if they did find it they’d have a hard time taking it away with 230v passing through it.
