"60s Salford you say? We're from the salford(ish) area, in fact, Mr used to live on Salford Quays "
Was Salford Docks when we lived there.
Cross lane had a market and Manchester Liners was the tallest building. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I don't like any of them APART from the one that most hate beginning with C (I'm being good tonight), cunny, quim and vagina. If I'm feeling whimsical I sometimes like tuppence.
The kebabs, beef curtains, gash type descriptions I find disrespectful to my lovely quim. Pussy etc. just make me cringe as they are a bit childish. |

The first 3 are a bit graphic and not the best choice of words I would agree. The rest well the end of the day they are all words. Now if someone was to call it a pox scared pit of despair then that's pretty nasty! Good job we dont eh! |

Give it time, someone will own up to calling the vagina that. |

I hate all childish words alluding to a vaj. I quite like using the c word for my vagina as its an old English word thats been around for ages since Victorian times . Should point out though that I only use the c word in the heat of a beautiful steamy session not when chatting to kids! |

Very true. It's a good solid "meaty" sounding word (no pun intended).
WOMEN!!! Stand up and reclaim your Cunts!!! |

It is much more ancient than Victorian times. |

"Cunt, its just a horrible word for me. hate the word, vulgar "
I think it is only vulgar when used inappropriately. I find it offensive that a way to put a man down is to refer to him as female genitalia. |

"Cunt, its just a horrible word for me. hate the word, vulgar " Me too - to me it just sounds really vile and not even feminine in a way. I can understand it to a degree being used in a one to one session between a man and a woman having steamy sex (although I would not ever use it). |

I'm the same, I couldn't use that word and I find the Q word equally so. Its no argument to me that these words were used in historical times, it doesn't make the word any less vulgar. We are also not in those times now and the C word is used today equally as an insult.
If I'm talking about my vagina, and I don't think I do often, then ill say lady bits because vagina can be somewhat clinical. During a sexual session I don't refer to my vagina as any word. If I want something, like oral sex, I'd say 'I want you to taste me' rather than 'eat my C'.
Maybe it has got something to do with upbringing as my parents didn't swear and I only heard it at school. I don't swear in everyday language and I only do so for effect, its always contrived rather than a spontaneous use of words |

The word cunt is anglo saxon. Its a derivative of cunny which is the route of coney. A coney is a young rabbit. So its actually saying the vagina is soft and furry. The only reason it is regarded as vulgar is that its route is anglo saxon not norman French. Lots of swear words are anglo saxon and looked down on because they do not have norman French routes. God I can be a pedant |

"Quim is one we've heard around the past few months tooThat is, I believe Victorian? "
Geoffrey Chaucer (late 1300s) uses 'quim' and the word 'cunt' is very ancient - some believe the River Kennet in Wiltshire comes from the word, the whole area including Silbury Hill is shaped like a pregnant woman. That would make it Bronze Age at least.
Cunt has been used as an sexist and anti-woman word by ignorant men since the last war. R calls hers her cunt and so did G's ex. Reclaim the word, ladies!
We hate 'minge' and 'front bottom', yuk. Also 'hedgehog with a cut throat' very childish. |

There used to be roads in london called things like "gropecunt lane" which was basically a street rife with prostitutes. Of course these days they've been renamed to things like "grape street"or any other word that sounds like grope. |

Fanny is the one I've always hated, yet I love the word cunt... Go figure.
Also, anything that makes a vagina sound like an injury (i.e: gash, axe wound) puts me off, it makes me question the user's sanity as I then can't help but wonder if they've got a fetish for maimed people, lol. - Almost like they go around hospitals shoving their cock in people's stab wounds ect.
